Just to express my thanks to Clarion Motors, Worthing (not a main dealer) in the face of constant changes in Skoda support.
Here is a copy of my webmails to Skoda head office with a copy to our nearest main dealer Sparshatts of Chichester.

re:- Skoda Superb Elegance 2.5TDI
Index no LIB 351 First registered 24th March 2003.
Urgent replacement is needed (or authorised repair offered if replacement is not available) of faulty leaking diesel heat exchanger underneath chassis of car. The leak seems to be coming from where the cooling tube has been welded to the support frame.
For many years I have trusted Clarion Motors at Worthing for purchase and service of our Skoda cars.
For the current vehicle we have had experienced problems in that Clarion cannot carry out authorised warranty work.
Yesterday however I put the vehicle in for its first MOT only to find the car fail because of a leak from the above cooler.
Clarion told me that a replacement part was not in stock and could take at least a week or maybe a month to arrive. The last part I needed on backorder (a headlamp switch) took several months to arrive.
I could not have this relatively new vehicle failing the MOT and being out of use. Clarion were able to arrange for a temporary bypass of the faulty part so that I could pass the MOT.
The labour and parts for this temporary work amounted to £49.40.
We don't seem to have been kept updated on the failure and replacements for Ballamys at Shoreham and Chichester and your established dealer at Ewhurst is not really convenient.
We feel that these changes have caused us inconvenience and as a gesture of goodwill you should arrange for this part to be sent to Clarion.
Am I correct in thinking there is a new dealer in Chichester (Sparshatts) and is this on the previous City Garage (Ballamy's) premises?
If you cannot sort this out we will reluctantly go to Sparshatts to have the part fitted when it becomes available.
Alternatively we would accept repair of the faulty part to avoid prolonged delays if you can suggest a competent specialist service.

I'm not anticipating any long high speed journeys in the immediate future so I am hoping the temporary bypass of the fuel return from engine to tank won't give rise to problems but obviously I would like the temporary 'repair' made good as soon as possible.
