Suspension and gears...

I know a couple of you have lowered your Superb, has it made it any better handling round corners? Is it sharper etc? Or is it just lower lol

Also, I'm having a bit of a problem, I think. When I slow down and go to put my car into 1st, it takes quite a bit of strength to "heave" it into the gear ratio...is it a problem or just one of those things? Also getting feedback through the clutch when I change gear, but only when I'm climbing in speed (i.e 1st-2nd, not 2nd-1st) is this a fault?

Re: Suspension and gears...

Had my Superb lowered and I suppose it is a bit better in the corners, but it aint no F1 car. I had mine done for visual reasons as I suspect most owners would. I haven't had any problem with my gearbox and it's covered 62k miles

Re: Suspension and gears...

I lowered mine around the same time as Fluffy for both visual and handling aspects, the car handles 10 times better and I am more confident in driving it harder now and obviously it also looks 10 times better IMHO.

As for the gearbox VAG boxes are always hard to get into 1st when the car is not stationary so this sounds like a common issue to me.....

I second that, had that on almost every VW group car I have driven, apart from a totally sh4gged Golf we used to have as a pool car.

What sort of speed would you be travelling at when trying to engage 1st, Chris? I don't have a problem when engaging 1st below say 10 mph and in any event, why would you want to engage 1st above that sort of speed?
