| Re: Switched 12v in Boot I need a 12v perm , 12v switched and gdn in the boot to run a car pc ... i'm using the 12v socket for the 12v perm and neutral, now just need a 12v switched ... current rating not important just enough to kick in a relay would be ok, and I could use that to split the 12v perm thru a relay to give a good 12v switched to the pc ... thanks ... |

| Briskodian | Re: Switched 12v in Boot You could always try using a caravan 12S socket relay, you wire a parmanent supply on to it, ie from the 12v socket in the boot, it then gives you 3 ouputs, 1 is a permanent 12v supply and 2 are switch outputs (used for fridge and leisure battery charging normally), they are only active when the ignition is on and the Alternator is not loaded, it normally switches after about a minute of the engine running when its not pulling any extra power of the alternator, I dont know how it works but I wired 1 into my car and sure enough even though there is a constant 12v on to it the 2 switched outputs only come active when the ignition is on and the engine has run down to an idle after it has started, it is designed to keep the caravan disconnected and not to over load the car when starting it and until the alternator can handle the extra load. |
