| Re: Which Tow bar ? It all depends on what you want.........if you don't want to see the towbar when you're not towwing then there's a detachable towbar .........or Swan neck .....or normal flat plate one ....I went with a normal towbar because it was cheaper and my stabiliser had a flat plate fitting ....got it off of Ebay and fitted it myself for £76 all in ......dealer fitting will normally be from £200 upwards (paid £250 in Cornwall a few years ago) ...... any questions, ask away and if I am on here I will see if I can answer them

| Re: Which Tow bar ? I bought a fixed towbar which caused the reverse parking sensors to come on intermittently. Would therefore recommend you go for either Skoda own brand or detachable.

| Briskodian | Re: Which Tow bar ? Hi, I have a detatchable Westfalia towbar on my Superb, bought it of E-bay for £120 brand new as a passat towbar, I beleive Westfalia actually make the towbar Skoda supply as the auto lock detachable towbar, It is totally hidden and even the electrics pivot up behind the bumper, I use it for towing a caravan and despite a small noise (see my previous thread) due to its auto locking mechanism I have found it great due to its ease of use and totally hidden look (tell people you have a towbar and they never beleive you). One problem it did pose when doing the electrics due to its pivot bracket only one socket can be fitted thus to add auxillary electrics I had to fit a 13pin euro socket (alot neater way of doing it than our aging system!), this was easy as you just wire both cable to the one socket and then buy a 13pin to 12n and 12s adapter, you can even buy a 13pin to 12n adater if your just towing a trailer, I know it sounds alot of hassle but I fitted the towbar before I even considered having a Caravan, Again depends what your looking for, not to spoil the look of the car, if that doenst bother you probably better getting any flange type, there all as good as the next, cheaper and the electrics would be easier to do!
