Triptonic gearbox query Hope someone can shed some light on a problem I have encountered with my auto gearbox and the multidot display. Here goes. I start the engine and the top part of the display(with the radio station/track No) goes red and none of the gear display lights up so no P R N D 1 2 3 4. Try turning off and on again same thing. Tried this several times on a 40 mile round trip no joy. put the car on the drive leave it for a couple of hours start it up and its back to normal. Has this happened to anyone ? do you know what it means ?and will they be able to see it as a fault code at the dealer ? Thanks in advance

Re: Triptonic gearbox query There was a technical bulletin on that a while back, I had to do my guv's old car. IIRC just a simple reprogramming of the dash sorts it out.

Re: Triptonic gearbox query Thanks for the reply. Dealer said that no fault was stored but if it happened again they would replace the display

Re: Triptonic gearbox query Fair enough but all they need to do is sort the coding.
