| Re: V-Power Trials I see a few Superb drivers about and often find it funny as I feel they also want to acknowledge me for driving the same car but never do because they will feel stupid. Did see a Silver superb taxi around St Marys road the other day - I live in Fratton. The cheapest in the area is Bonds garage (or whatever its called now) in waterlooville. Check petrolprices.com - Shell in W.Ville is 110.9 standard and 116.9 for the V-Power. Where do you get yours serviced? |

it's virtually out of warranty now and I don't trust any of the Skoda dealers this side of Perth in Scotland to do anything properly. | |

I'm getting nearly 600 miles for every tank of Shell Diesel Extra, 130bhp AWX. 60 litres doing 415 miles? Only if I'm gunning it everywhere...

| Re: V-Power Trials Hmm...? Oh, sorry ![]() I see, but my ~600 miles is on average at 45mpg, so I'd guesstimate (badly) you're running sub-40? Is taxi-ing really that hard on fuel..? All of a sudden I'm going to stop complaining about £30 fares for 5 miles ![]()

| Re: V-Power Trials Yeah, it consist's mainly of urban driving with lots of stop start, then theres the move up two places at a time on the rank, roof light unaerodynamics and of course the enthusiastic pace, mine is normally over the week anything from 26-32, when I got her I had a 200 mile drive home, this ended up @ 47mpg when I got home. |

| Briskodian | Re: V-Power Trials How are the trials going? ![]() I've used normal Shell Diesel Extra on this tank full, and so far I have 340 miles out of 3 quarters of a tank. I've been taking it easy, not very often above 70 and with the auto in comfort mode. Air-Con has been on No1 all of the time too. I really cant remember whether I get much less than this, although I think its normally 300ish at this point. |

| Re: V-Power Trials I find using V-Power, BP Ultimate, or even sticking Millers into a normal tank of juice makes not one bit of difference. The car feels no different, and mileage does not go up or down. More or less consistent figures. I suppose this could be down to the V6 TDi being of older design. Plain Shell Diesel Extra for me. Why pay extra for something that make no difference

| Briskodian | Re: V-Power Trials I'm not too sure, but mine feels like it pulls more smoothly with V-Power. Kind of like the torque curve is a bit smoother, and the 70-90 feels more improved. |

| Re: V-Power Trials I dumped another 30 litres in tonight, at the time i had done 725 miles on 120 litres but still had the entire red section and a needle width above it so estimating about 770 from that 120 litres, which works out at....30 mpg, once the car offer is finished I will full tank her and run it down and refill test it for better results, are you guy's finding the 1500-3000 band a lot less effort now as well? |

| Briskodian | Re: V-Power Trials Interesting discussion about V-Power merits etc. Just to add something to the mix: Honest John in Today's (Sat 5th April) Daily Telegraph has a letter from someone who has a Golf GTI 2.0TFSI and is querying whether V-power is necessary. Honest John says that using V-Power gives the difference of 20bhp! Whether he means that you gain 20bhp on to of the stated power, or whether using ordinary octane fuel results in the power output dropping 20bhp from the stated bhp he doesn't say. However, he does say that there is no point having a high performance car and running it on lower octane fuel. I would say that it takes a couple of tankfuls before the benefits become apparent. |

| Re: V-Power Trials I have had three tankfulls now (have 3/4 of another tank to go) - cant say I notice any better fuel consumption and it does not make the car as smooth as BP Ultimate. I think I will invest in another bottle of Millers and buy Total fuel. I nearly filled up with BP Ultimate a couple of days ago, but when I saw the price being £121 per l, I decided against it. I would rather push the car home than be ripped off. £121 is a con. |

| Re: V-Power Trials Ok, final summary of my experience MPG improved by 3 mpg Idle became very smooth Engine got more responsive under initial foot down Since returning to reg derv, all the above are still true, so the conclusion for me is it does shift the muck and restore the spray pattern, and I'd recommend it one tank in six to keep things sweet. |

Suffice to say however, with those conclusions from someone who drives for a living are such that I won't bother with the Superb - surely the odd tank of fuel cleaner, or one in six as Superbia suggests makes more financial sense... *heads off in search of bio diesel*
