What's it worth - Edition 100?

Thinking of selling the Superb. I've got a good idea what my car's worth at the moment, but would be interested to know what other peeps think. There are some on autotrader, but the values vary wildy due to mileages (£6k to £12.7k)

2005 55 Edition 100 Manual PD130
49600miles
Full Skoda History (2 variable services)
Don't know if it makes much difference, but the manufacturers warranty is up to the second half of October.

Anyone have access to Glass's Guide (or is it Glasses?) for trade values?

Ta.

Plenty of valuation sites listed in a sticky thread.....

Re: What's it worth - Edition 100?

Glass's prices for an Elegance with the same mileage/age are:

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£8870
Average condition:
£7940
Below average condition:
£6980

So i would say around 1K more for an Edition 100.

Re: What's it worth - Edition 100?

Just tried that mycarcheck website on my old Saab. Where do they get those prices?! It reckons at auction my old Saab (T reg) would go for £70 less than its scrap value.

As for the Edition 100 - it reckons £6620 for a private sale. If that's the case then I'm not selling, but why is this nowhere near the prices on Autotrader? Cheapest 55 reg Elegance at a dealer (less than 60k) that's not a salvage is £10495.

Was going to bite the bullet and pay for the Glass's guide valuation, but it doesn't list an Edition 100....

I reckon a dealer would have my car up for £10k. Mycarcheck reckons £7620 on a forcourt

Thanks for that

Those prices are more promising than the free valuation sites

Yeah, i know!!! Phoned today (i've just sold my Fabia vRS) but it was sold!!
Theres loads on Autotrader from 5k upwards but with more miles obviously. There are a few though where people are still asking 'silly' money for them

Re: What's it worth - Edition 100?

If you look carefully it's the main agent ones that seem to have near new pricing on them, I spotted one I looked at over a year ago that was listed at the time for 15k, on sale now for 11k, if I'd offered them 12.5k for it back then I'd have been scoffed at, yet here we are all this time on and the unit stocking order money will have been costing interest to them, I also saw the same car as mine at the local dealer 6 mths ago with 11k on the screen, this was for an 04 model btw, what actually does it most of the time is VAG have a policy of buying anything of theirs back to starve the market into having to deal with the main agents, hence why the prices don't drop as fast on VAG cars like other brands.

That's very cynical, sir...

I do agree about the dealers "near new" pricing though - the private sales offer much better value, although with less backup.

I use that term advisedly - but ofc it's always worth doing the homework when buying private.

BTW, if you're still selling the Edition 100 I'll give you £20 and the wife?

Re: What's it worth - Edition 100?

I bought mine (Dec 05, 55-plate, Edition 100, Auto) this time last year for £10,250. It was on ebay and I was the sole bidder.

Gordon Lamb have another Edition 100 Auto up at the moment at £12475 (high 30k miles) and Autotrader has a manual one in Ireland at £8995 (60k miles).

I guess, depending on how quickly you want to sell it, maybe try it at £8-£8.5k privately or on ebay? Not sure what dealers would be offering on a part-ex? Guess I'll find out when Simpsons put a "deal" to me on a new-model this Autumn!

I've stuck it in the classifieds to gauge interest.
