| Why always 2 visits? Took my car to the dealers last week to have a couple of things looked at (booked it in the week before) - door that won't unlock and parking sensor issue. They had the car all day and concluded that I need a new door control module and a new parking sensor BUT the parts were not at the dealers. I therefore have to take the car back this week (another 'out of my way' journey) for them to install the new parts which they ordered. This happens every time I take the car in for anything other than routine servicing. They NEVER have any parts in stock. Why can't VAG operate a sale or return type of system so that the dealers could order the 'likely' spare parts for your first, and only, visit and mend the car there and then. They could then return the unused and unopened spare parts to VAG central stores and not be invoiced for them. Why do the customers always have to suffer like this?

| Briskodian | Re: Why always 2 visits? Skoda is the poor relation of the VAG group. The Superb is the lemon of this group's products with the fewest sales. It's hardly surprising that spares are not kept by the dealers. I wouldn't even think of going to Skoda first for bits - GSF or similar factors first, then VW - then a breaker. I'm afraid that in my experience so far, the dealers' knowhow matches their stock of spares. I would predict that Superb specific body parts will be difficult to get - just try not to bend it. rotodiesel. |

| Re: Why always 2 visits? I really do stuggle sometimes to understand why people post such critisim of the Superb and Skoda in general but I will add my 2p to this topic... It's clear that Skoda have a reduced number of dealers within the UK compared to Audi or VW and this is a direct result of the amount of vehicles that are sold within the UK......this directly relates to the parts that are in stock and for a car that is not a popular seller then it seems fair for them not to stock parts for it... I have ordered many parts for the Superb from the Skoda dealer and never had a problem with the service but then I can't vouch for everyone on that....I do however have to travel a fair distance to pick these parts up but that is just the way it is.... If you owned a VW or an Audi would you expect them to carry the potential failed items in stock? I would argue not..... More than likely come in for some critisim for this reply but I am only being honest.... Problems with your car are never ideal and going to the dealer is rarely a pleasant experience and I completley understand this as I have experienced it myself....

| Re: Why always 2 visits? most dealers only keep fast movin and service type parts, they cannot afford to have stock sat on shelves collecting dust, if its important VOR should get it next day

| Re: Why always 2 visits? VAG have a huge warehouse up north (not sure where off hand) everything is held there and if a garage needs something it is sent out from there usually on a "thru the nite" service meaning they get the parts the next morning by 7.30am, this usually only happens for the work the garage are doing otherwise (for you and me) its sent down on economy service. |

Yeah, I agree with Baker here. I know roto' and a few others have had problems with the service their Skoda dealers provide, but with the exception of VW Telford (Inchcape) all the VAG dealers around here are ****. Except, that is, Autosales Cannock, a Skoda dealer. If you're in this neck of the woods check them out. In any case, I now use Autosales to get parts for Donna's Mk2 GTI, I'm that impressed with the service (I've moved a fair distance away from Telford now, Cannock's closer). There's my 2p's worth ![]()

| Re: Why always 2 visits? As you live in March, why not go to Mill Hill? They always look after me, and they get their bits direct. ![]() Ask for Geoff in parts, tell him Tom sent you and you may just get some pennies off!!! ![]()
