Wiper Arm Removal

Hi All,

I've acquired some Aero Wipers and appropriate wiper arms. The problem is, how do I get the old ones off?

Once I've removed the cover at the base of each arm and the nut securing it, the arm seems firmly stuck to the spline and does not want to come off.

I'm nervous of using too much force in case I end up damaging the mechanism. Have used WD40 to no avail to try and loosen things.

Anyone had a similar experience?

Rob

They're always a sod to get off - pull the arm away from the glass into the locked position and rock the arm backa nd forth - it will loosen eventually.

Best way to get them off, speaking from experience once you have the cover and nut off, push the visible threaded bolt up and down repeatedly just by applying pressure with your hand, don't worry nothing will break and this frees the wiper arm in the easiest manner.....

Re: Wiper Arm Removal

Thanks Guys,

In the end I bought a balljoint puller from Halfords, which rather neatly fitted round the base of the wiper arm. A quick turn of the screw and they popped off beautifully.

Bit of a marathon job in the end, but fitting the new ones was the work of a moment.

Cheers,

Rob

How do the aero wipers look on? Would like to see how different they look to the standard wipers?
