'Wood' trim

I know it has been mentioned a whilst ago, but thought i would ask again for the newer members.

Does anyone have an Elegance that they really don't like the 'wood' effect trim that they would like to swap with the trim you find in an (2004) Comfort - black rubberized and silver door capping's (the same colour as your air vents)

(I have a single DIN radio, with the storage drawer underneath.)

Re: 'Wood' trim

Nope. I quite like it; in fact, that was one of the reasons that I bought the car (that, and the fact that it was 17 grand less than the Jag S-type I was also looking at).

Now, if I had an L&K, I would probably pay you to take its 'wood' trim away....

Re: 'Wood' trim

I'm with tarzey on this. I like the trim in my Elegance as I think it looks quite tasteful.

The new L & K 'wood' however is so garish that it actually looks absolutely ghastly!!

IMHO of course :-)

Re: 'Wood' trim

Gizmo, just spotted there's a full set of trim on ebay at the mo for £50, no bids at present, and it's an 8 day auction. Might be worth watching if this is of any interest?

Don't know if this link will work! If not, just search under 'Skoda Superb'

Re: 'Wood' trim

When i got my car I hated the wood, but grew to like it. Would only swap it for the Black Magic one as seen in the Edition 100, and wouldnt fancy doing the door cards tho, are these easy to get off?

Re: 'Wood' trim

I saw the set on eBay Geoff, that is what reminded me, trouble is there is no drawer front on that set (must of had double DIN radio fitted) so the real cost is much more as i would then 'have to' buy a new radio to go with it

Yea, sorry, you're right about the double DIN. I didn't look that closely to be honest but, logically, if it's a genuine Skoda elegance set it would be for the factory fit DX satnav unit like mine. I see it's for a manual, but again it would probably depend on whether it was for a 130PD or a 140PD as to whether the gear kn-b would be for 5 or 6 speed.

And, I guess, whether it's for a pre or post facelift elegance - the brochure pictures for the latest facelifted elegance seem to show a 'lighter' colour wood than mine, which is quite a deep/dark colour. Not sure I like the new, lighter Indian Summer as much as mine, which I think is called Vavona or something.

There are slightly more screws to get off than that but the door cards are a simple thing to change.........

Re: 'Wood' trim

Was the 'wood trim' only available on (Elegance) models with sat nav (double DIN), or was it also available for a single DIN radio?? (& storage drawer)

Mine (03 Elegance) doesn't have sat nav but it has the wood and the Symphony radio. Plus a dinky little drawer!
