Welcome to club common sense.

I drove Merc E class for last 6 years until I got my Superb in June. As good a car, with loads more toys and a lot cheaper. In fact build quality is better on the Skoda than the newer Mercs. The other advantage is you don't have to put up with Lord Snooty's gang at your local Merc dealer, and their rubbish service (I am still waiting a call back from their service department - only 18 months now).

Take your pub mates out in it and they will see the difference (unless they are badge snobs).

Seen one of these in Sahara beige with the leather interior , it looks bril , and would think more than 20k worth of car foe alot less , the 130 bhp engine is perfect as well , have it in my Octy . my next car has to be with the DSG auto though , starting to get lazy . Post a pic when you get it .

First point you don't drive a badge, you drive a car. As far as I am aware no badge has been invented that makes any difference to how good a car actually is.

As for the "barmaid" - thats about typical - just about one of the uncoolest cars about and she likes it - still it is girlie.

You are right they are wrong - their problem not yours.
