Bye Bye water pump

Liquid Metal-Based CPU Cooler

I imagine that this, rather like the peltzier effect coolers, has got a potential wider application beyong IT - being topical, Formula 1 cars comes to mind.

Our mini chiller 'day fridges' use these chips.

Wouldnt use them in a PC though, as they commonly freeze and get covered in thick ice lumps!

All the cheepo chillers in Argos/halfords use it

They only ice-up because they ain't got a thermostat. How cheap and minature would a solid state T be ?

They do. It's a common issue with this type of cold chip

This uses that same technology licenced from the Danish developer.

£45 from PC World and it's not nearly as good as a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme.
