| Flip/clam shell phones? Do any of the big manufacturers make a decent flip phone these days? I'm going to be getting a new phone from work and if I can find one, I'd like a flip phone. I had one a few years ago and it was fantastic, I could put it in my pocket with my car/site keys without worrying that the screen would scratch or that I would accidently make a call and it seemed to have a decent battery life (it wasn't always powering the main screen). |

| Re: Flip/clam shell phones? Define "decent". I think the basic Motorola Razrs (without the pointless low res cameras, MP3 players etc) are pretty good (decent size buttons, useful directory manipulations). |

| Briskodian | Re: Flip/clam shell phones? Nokia do quite a nice one in the E or N series. Looks fairly solid with good batter life, so probably worth taking a look at.

| Re: Flip/clam shell phones? I'm after something that is comparable to a nokia 6300, something I can call and text on and take pictures of things when operators break them! |

| Re: Flip/clam shell phones? I was looking at the 6600 fold earlier after you said Nokia make a few. It seems like the best they are all a bit girly though! |

| Re: Flip/clam shell phones? The V3 in it's various versions is a solid phone. You set it up how you want it and it's great. Nokia flips stuff has never been much kop and is sold in low volumes. Don't touch any of the current SE slide models as they have more issues than anything I have ever seen and there are no parts about. If you want a balanced phone to be robust, reliable and inexpensive you will not go wrong with the 6300. Not a flip but it's still about the best there is. |

| Re: Flip/clam shell phones? I had a 6300 but I didn't really get on with it... If I'm honest, the last phone I really got on with was my nokia 8310. I've still got it knocking about somewhere and it was the most reliable and indestructable phone I've ever had. It used to go 4/5 days without a charge as well. Maybe I should just dig that out and charge the company for it! |

| Re: Flip/clam shell phones? SWMBO bought a Nokia 6086 when her old 3210 gave up. I like it - looks good, convenient buttons, bluetooth, wlan. Camera rather crappy, though (0.3 mpx). Specs here: Nokia UK - Nokia 6086 - Technical specifications
