ipod question... Please don't laugh. Please excuse my stupidity. I have been given an ipod. There is music on the unit which I wish to keep, but I have been told that when I plug it into my computer it will synchronize with itunes and wipe things on the ipod which are not on my hard drive. Is there a way to stop this happening? Thanks ![]()

Re: ipod question... Please don't laugh. Open the iTunes options, set syncing with iTunes manual only and plug your Pod in as much as you want. Nothing gets deleted.

Re: ipod question... Please don't laugh. Make sure that the new computer has the latest version of iTunes on. Plug it in and when it asks if you want to "Erase and Sync" press cancel and then tick the "Manually Manage" option. If all else fails dont pay for any programs you can get anapod exlorer which last time i looked was free

Re: ipod question... Please don't laugh. There is a little piece of free software called sharepod that allows you to use the iPod via drag-and-drop from any windows desktop instead of iTunes, but it does require a version of .net that may need to be installed on your machine. Apart from that it works fine ![]()
