| Microsoft Live Mesh™ Has anyone been beta-testing live mesh? Its basically microsofts version of a online syncronisation mesh.. Ive been using it and find it quite handy... you log into the mesh with your live id, and you can see any machines you have added to it, and if you can get thru the firewalls, you can remote desktop onto them from a web browser anywhere!. Theres also a "live desktop" which is like a 5gb online filestore.. if you install the app to your machines you have the options of syncronising files in various user created folders with various machines... eg i have a folder called "work stuff" that keeps important files synced between my home machine and work machine... and it just shows up as a shortcut on my desktop on both machines. it uses BITS for block level transfers so its quite data-efficent.. theres also a mobile version on the way ![]() www.livemesh.com I think its an open beta now... but if anyone wants a go i think ive got a couple of invites. |
