Thats the thing you see, vRS isnt top of the range.

In spec the Elegance and the L+K are above it.

One way I found of setting alarm off in my Mk1 vRS was lock the car with button on Keyfob (leave for about 1min), then unlock door with key, then when you open the door the alarm would go off.

Nope, should be pretty straight forward to upgrade yours to CAT 1.

Have a look through your Yellow Pages, find a few local alarm fitters and punt about for a price.

I wonder if the Irish and UK specs differ then as the UK one definitely doesn't have an alarm.... this is the reason you can't set it to chirp-chirp when locking the car...

It won't make a difference - the Mk1 vRS doesn't have an alarm

I had a cat1 sigma m30 fitted to my mk1 vRS, you get another fob with the m30 and several other usefull features.

Total Closure, lock the car and all windows close automatically.
A second imobiliser in the alarm system.
A usefull function which by using the second imobiliser, would totally disable the car even if the potential thief had the correct key. To defeat this, a pin code requires entering on a keypad before you can start the car.

oh my god sounds like Bond!!! James Bond just rolled up lol....that sounds really cool having a key pad and all the extra stuff but the hole idea of having two key fobs is a little off putting. if any one has any other alarms fitted let me know i think i need one in the area i live lol WESTON is a really vicious place

You could get the M35, which upgrades the current imobiliser to cat1 and uses the key remote.

Yes but your not in the UK

UK spec seems a little tight on the alarm side of things.
