| Just recieved the details below by e-mail, would be great for track day novices as well as those with some experience. I have done a few track days with them & their organisation and safety is excellent. Might be an excuse for a mini meet --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DRIVING ACADEMY DAY We are delighted to announce the first 2006 Motorsport Events Academy Day. Due to the Motorsport Events calendar being busier than ever, at this stage we are only releasing one event date but with more possible in August and September. The first Academy One Day of 2006 will take place on: Saturday 13th May The Motorsport Events Driving Academy Day is a fantastic opportunity to learn new driving skills in a controlled airfield environment with no nasty Armco barriers present! | Well, will book up on Friday, seems too good to miss... I'm certainly no "Stig" - any advice/tuition is appreciated. My driving knowledge all stems from the IAM advanced techniques, which to my mind aren't all that advanced, and do little to help you drive more quickly without provoking death... ![]() |

| Anyone considering this should consider that the airfield is just big flat areas of concrete. Any "circuit" will just be a cone course. www.philgooch.com/video should give you a good idea of what it's like ![]() |

Ive done a few & some utilise the perimeter roads to give a better "circuit feel" Big plus is there are no horrible barriers to hit or Gravel traps which whilst stopping you will trash your wheels. As for whats included, give them a call & chat through your questions with them direct Motorsport-events are now my prefered track day company, mainly because of their strict emphasis on safety & enjoyment of the day, and anyone driving dangerously or inconsiderately is dealt with very firmly. They operate the black flags a lot, first one you get is a polite but firm chat, the second is a severe talking to, the third is go home, your not welcome & Ive seen it done. All the marshalls work as a team & they seem very aware of whos a novice & who isnt & police it accordingly. Driving too close to the car in front & hassling it is a no no & will get you in trouble but so will not easing off on the straight & letting a quicker car pass.
