Pros: Custom remap; attention to detail
Cons:

Car: Octavia 1.8T auto

Yet another big "thumbs up" for Jabbasport.

First of all - they were very understanding about me turning up a bit late (diversions at the end of the M6, getting lost in Stamford....)

Mike was quite happy to customise the remap as I wanted (fairly conservative; suitable for normal unleaded if I couldn't get SUL). He also put my mind at rest concerning the torque converter and transmission - apparently he has remapped some auto VWs which are being used on track (and one even runs NOS!).

I had already asked for a Bailey DV to be fitted - just as well, as the stock one had a split diaphragm.

Mike kept me up to date with progress reports; apparently he had some difficulty persuading the car to stay on the rollers He set it with no overboost - just a steady 1 Bar, to give progressive power delivery. Final output was 228.8 Cv (is that the same as BHP?) at 4004 rpm.

First impressions of driving it:

Smooth, progressive power delivery throughout the speed range. Gentle pressure on the accelerator at around 60MPH gives a firm push in the back, which continues as the speed goes up to.... well, it was a stupid speed, and I won't be doing it again...
Low speed acceleration through the gears is equally impressive. I haven't needed kick-down at all - in fact, I'm a bit scared to try it

The Dyno plot is a bit, er, unusual; Mike couldn't stop it changing gear, and the torque converter has distorted the figures a bit. Max torque (as measured) was a whopping 446Nm at 3025 RPM. I'll post a copy later.

Pros: Custom remap for your particular engine
Cons:

Car : Octavia vRS
Work Done : ECU Remap

First Impression : Very friendly and willing to help / answer any queries you may have, Free Coffee.

Mike spent about 4 1/2 Hours with my RS including locating the cause of a fault code showing on the ECU before even starting the remap process. Whilst on the RR Mike kept me informed of how it was going at various stages and even cleaned the MAF when it was apparent the engine was having a problem at 4k rpm. After lunch all was done and it was time to test drive the new beast, well pleased with the result 227BHP 303nm torque on 95ron u/l although thats with a full milltek exhaust system. The car drives so much better, even fuel economy has improved around town as you dont seem to need low gears like before.

Pros: Professional, great value for money
Cons: None

(Originally posted 26/03/2003)

Work done: ECU remap (necessitated some other parts - see below).

Very impressed with the remap and the work done. Now have 203 bhp and 223Lbft from the SLX (AGU engine with the smallest turbo - 151 bhp before the chip).

Mike spent ages on the car, changed the air filter because it was struggling to breathe, and then proceeded to diagnose a split DV diaphragm as well - no wonder it hadn't felt too special the last few weeks. After about 2 hours on the RR we then went out in the car for a road test. The boost was a little high for Mike's liking so he tweaked the map a little and tried again. This took 3 test drives altogether. The man is a professional! No "oh that'll do" - it had to be right.

The power now is awesome, and so smooth. The engine revs much more freely and is now worth taking to higher RPM than before - previously it ran out of breath above about 5300 (this may just have been the dirty air filter element). MPG is almost exactly what it was before - can average 35ish on my motorway *** A roads commute to work. Cruising or town driving feels almost identical to how it was before too.

Atmosphere: Extremely friendly - don't mind silly questions, happy to talk to you about anything. Free coffee.

On the phone: Very friendly as well. I had to cancel my first appointment at very short notice due to other problems with the car but they were very understanding about this.

Other comment: Not the easiest place in the world to find - better instructions on the website would be handy.

Pros: map specific to car, friendly, knowledgable
Cons:

After finding the workshop, I was confronted by very friendly staff with coffee and magazines to keep you occupied whilst Mike went to work.

After a good couple of hours, he came back upstairs with a smile on his face and a piece of paper in his hand. The graphs were nice and smooth and peaked at more than I expected.

The drive home was amazing too. Was wet, so couldn't play too much. but you knew instantly that the extra power and torque was at your disposal.

Highly reccomended.

Pros: Service, price, quality of work...everything really.
Cons: Bit of a trek, but hey i live in the middle of nowhere haha

First visit was 6 months / 5000 miles after buying my Octavia RS for a remap.

They did a top quality job. The car was treated with respect and returned in a spotless condition. The remap was superb, it turned a quick car into a VERY quick car.

Exactly 1 year later i went back to have the variable boost controller fitted, and a remap adjustment to suit.

The experience was exactly as per the 1st visit, and Mike set the map to exactly the requirements i asked for.

Great service, excellent price (with thanks to Adrian "SkodiRS" for the Group Buys) and a 1st class team at Jabba.

No other tuner will be getting their hands on my car.

Forget the distance, it's all about the quality of service.

Pros: The beast is unleashed!!
Cons: Couldn't really unleash the beast much on the way home due to traffic!!

I've had 2 cars done now the first was my vRS hatch and the second my current vRS Estate. Now done well over 36k Jabba'd miles without so much as a hiccup. Might even get Mrs Jimmy's Audi A3 1.8T 'done' but meeting some resistance as it's not seen as top priority apparently - sheek women eh!!

Anyway, for level of service, VFM and confidence in the product I'd have no hesitation recommending Mike and the guys at JabbaSport. Tip Top top of the Shop all round really. What are you waiting for?

Pros: Much improved engine flexibility and penchant for revs!
Cons: Dual Mass flywheel vibrations below 2k in higher gears and potential clutch issues!

A good job well done!

Post-remap figures of 191bhp and 320lb/ft are impressive enough for a derv, but what really impresses is the car's willingness to rev all the way round to 4000rpm. 3rd gear is fantastic for overtaking, and will pull all the way past 70mph. 4th is great for motorway acceleration too!

MPG seems largely unaffected, although it will fall if you boot it everywhere.

Definately recommended

Pros: Price, quality , service, performance!
Cons: None

Cannot rate Jabba too highly. It's a bit of a distance to travel, (Liverpool to Peterborough), but it was well worth it.

The workshop is spotless, (a very good sign), and the waiting area is very comfortable - leather suite, large screen TV with DVD and Xbox, (you just have to ask for a list of available movies / games).

I took my Octavia vRS in for a remap, 5 weeks old with 3k already on the clock. 4 hours of tinkering by Mike resulted in a power boost to 226bhp with standard unleaded. Not bad, not bad at all!

I left with a very big grin on my face, and an even bigger one, once I experienced the effects of Mike's wizardy first hand, (i.e. the 170 mile return journey home!). Another happy customer had his 150 bhp Seat Leon Turbo Diesel boosted to 220bhp. Enough said!

If you have a car which Jabba can remap, (i.e. Audi, VW, Seat or Skoda), this is an absolute 'no brainer'. Don't think about it, just make the booking with them, part with the cash, and then smile about the best value performance investment on the planet! Believe me, you won't regret it.

Cons: None.

Fantastic job, well impressed, and completely satisfied. Sorted out my standard fabia very well, and recommend them highly. These folks are a great bunch of tuners, and I cannot fault them. Power from 141 to 177.8 and tender loving care in making sure my clutch was in good nick. Superb!

Pros: Only people to offer a rear anit roll bar for the fabia platform
Cons: Not local to me
Car: 2004 Fabia VRS

Friendly helpfull staff. Seem to be a professional company who take care of their customers. While my car was their they carried out an inspection and noticed a problem with my car. They insisted to show me and advised I had it look at ASAP by my dealer.

Happy to deal with again.
