Re: North Wales - South Cheshire - Meet 'n' Drive - 22/03/07

Hello rob

Nice to meet you.

Well after a grand total of 300 miles for an evening I got home at 12:30

So what did I learn?

1. My car has a very mobile backend
2. Michelins may last a long time but they are made of bakerlite
3. Geometric shapes and large taxi like cars are not ideal companions
4. Standard, non-sport suspension is quite soft
5. Traffic lights are fun
6. I need more power, 1745kg is a lot of metal to shift

Ta Col and John

Re: North Wales - South Cheshire - Meet 'n' Drive - 22/03/07

Aye good to meet you Rob.

What did I learn...

1. Merc headlights are f'ing bright.
2. P-zero assemtricos don't last long and are dire on damp roads.
3. I could drive slower, but I'd be going backwards.
4. Diesels are too quick, they must be in league with satan.
5. I need less power.
6. I need more ability.
7. Fog hides left handers

Re: North Wales - South Cheshire - Meet 'n' Drive - 22/03/07

Funny about Zero Assyms not lasting long - my michelins have 4k on them and are at less than 3mm

I thought they were meant to last. Ah well, there are now some P7s on the rear instead, even though they arent scrubbed they grip better than the michelins and when they do go they are lovely

Re: North Wales - South Cheshire - Meet 'n' Drive - 22/03/07

Hi Rob

Sorry we were a tad late. Muppets at first choice are going to be are last choice from now on.

What I learnt.

1. Large taxi like shape car is fun to watch at traffic lights.
2. Large taxi like shape car with same power is still faster than the furby.
3. Always judge your own overtaking capabilities instead of following the car in front
3. New brakes are bedding in nicely
4. Same with the new rubber
5. Cant beat wales and good leaders for a drive.
6. Jabba rear arb makes a hugh difference
7. Nicci wants a clio 172
8. 3rd and 4th gear drive = 37mpg. Think the fuel filter change may have solved my problem.

Good little meet guys. Always a pleasure.

Re: North Wales - South Cheshire - Meet 'n' Drive - 22/03/07

Hello.

Was nice to meet a few fellow Briskodians, I'm just sorry I couldn't stay longer and come for a drive - I'm sure my knees wouldn't be aching this morning if I had.

What did I learn...

1. There are drivers out there who do much more dodgy things than me!
2. Old(er) doesn't necessarily mean sensible!
3. Meets and other car enthusiasts aren't that scary - although saying that I didn't stick round for the drive which is probably the scary part!
4. I need new front tyres (had a few scary moments in my rush to get to football)

I'm looking forward to the next meet now.

Re: North Wales - South Cheshire - Meet 'n' Drive - 22/03/07

1. That'll be Colin then
2. Colin again.
3. It was a gentle drive, no nutty stuff, just a gentle cruise
4. Replaced my rears this morning

Re: North Wales - South Cheshire - Meet 'n' Drive - 22/03/07

oh heck I forgot about that overtake...

yeah my gps thingy ma jig had fallen off the dash and was in my foot well hence I was going slowly...when I came too there was a car coming

Does annoy me when people slow down when your trying to get back behind them...and the other chap isn't slowing down, making that gap in the sandwhich smaller with every foot travelled. Maybe I just should'nt overtake at night...keep having dodgy moments of clarity.

Col (G) remember the trip back from Anglesey when I had my old black one? A similar thing happened last night with another black Fabia, only this time no-one pulled out

If I'd known, you could have come with me as I had to pass mancland on the way from here to there and back

Mind you, you'd have had to sit in the back and I would have had the meter running

Im sure it would have been very comfortable in the back of your luxo-barge.. and i would have had a good view of the road ahead through the side windows by the sounds of it too

I'm having the wipers moved from the front to the sides

at Col. Was an overtake that went per shaped. I was committed to just passing one car. But then yours went per shaped and you robbed my spot to which I was looking at a nice set of headlights in front of me

Live and learn. Right where's that number for the rospa...
