Re: Dub Preservation Meet Sat 3rd March

All the VAG group cars are invited.
I've been to one last year. I think I was the only Skoda there.

Re: Dub Preservation Meet Sat 3rd March

Well, didn't actually get to this meet!!

Was gonna meet beeftech at Leeming Bar services, but we were both running late. Beeftech rang me to say he was at Brough!!! Apparently, there had been a big accident at Scotch Corner on the A1 & they were diverting the traffic onto the A66.
Had to try & find the meet myself but was pushed for time (had to get back home for 3pm). I sacked it & turned home. Nevermind.

Heard later tonight that 2 people had been killed in the accident.

Re: Dub Preservation Meet Sat 3rd March

They Shut the A1 from Scotch Corner to the A168/A19 turning! Took Us 2.5hrs to get from Darlington to The Meet!

Sorry Jon! Maybe the next one eh???

Re: Dub Preservation Meet Sat 3rd March

I was up in carlisle yesterday or i would have come to this meet, luckily we heard about the accident on the A1 on our way dwon the A66, and managed to find an alternative route using mostly B roads, and not the recommended diversions.
Made a couple of wrong turns trying to get back on the A1 early but it still added an hour to our journey, without the wrong turns mayby 45 mins.
Mayby ill make the next one.

true, and ill be back over in summer for sure to check it out, from an outsiders view it all looked a bit "if yer names not down ya not coming in" what wi the cones blocking the car park off but i can understand why it wa done.
like i say, ill be back on a hotter day.
