Very, very well packaged, but no breakages!!!!
Thanks

Well, change of role at work and more miles to travel, the Megane at a running average of 27.9mpg has had to go.
That has put me firmly in the hands of a VAG diesel, and I will be a Skoda owner once more on the 24th.
I have chosen a vRS, but the Fabia this time.
I will be sorting my Freedom membership out in due course and and then looking at a few tweaks, perhaps starting with the PD160 intake and then a remap.
Not that I ever really left, I've always been skulking on the background, but it's good to be back

And here was me looking at getting a motorway cruising diesel................and a PD130 would be ideal.
If you do decide to, you can always let me know.........

Has anyone had any experience of these???
I managed to warp them with no problems, I assumed they were of a lighter metal so replaced with some others which have been fine.

mate's dad has a 505 GTi, which is god knows how old and I don't recall hearing any tails of woe
Used to have one of them, great car and reasonably quick too....but oh so comfortable!!!
Oh, and I think the signature below says where I stand on the Megane issue

Got mine the other morning, thanks:thumbup:
Is there any more Andy?????
I was applying it this morning and had a few requests
I'll have some more for a reserve.

I had exactly the same problem........
I spotted it at the 20k ish mark and reported it, had all four wheels changed at the 30k service under warranty.
They tried the "It's the acidic cleaners you use" and "They must be chipped" but anyone that knows me will testify I don't need any acidic cleaners as they are anally cleaned weekly, and in some cases sooner.
It took the area manager to see them, and he authorised the replacement. Mine was a 2003 vRS and it strikes me as they may have been a batch problem if there are ours with non wear and tear corrosion.
Keep trying is my advice, although I was still in warranty at the time.

I got rid of my Octy vRS mainly due to the 'customer service' here. I was so enraged by them that I didn't replace it with a VAG car, never mind a Skoda!!!!

I like to find a dealer I can get on with and then deal with them. Never bought something like a car from tinterwebnet' date=' if it goes wrong I like to be able to talk to someone face to face.
Having said that, based on my experience with this car, my next one will not be a Skoda - I have lost faith in:
their sales people - they supplied a hatch instead of the estate I ordered
their mechanics - 1. They rotated the tyres as requested, shame they only did one side
their mechanics - 2. Different dealer, fitted top mounts upside down, when I complained about the handling I was told "they all do that"
So, I won't have another one. I go to dealers regularly with my car being serviced about every 4 months and I buy new every 2-3 years. I am loyal to my dealers, right up tot he point where they **** up badly and upset me.[/quote']
OK 1 other thing though ' date=' I used to be one of the receptionists on a busy service reception.I had 1 guy tell me that his car had the coolant light on.He checked the coolant leval and all was well there.
So I suggested that he required an expansion tank.
He then asked if his car would be ok to drive , so I replied "Yes"
He then thre a tantrum down the phone screaming "YOU ARE A MEAR RECEPTIONIST AND YOUR TELLING ME MY CAR IS OK TO DRIVE"
Now please tell me that you want a nice friendly voice on the phone and to be helpfull , receptionists are mainly female , but do you want advice from them and would you listen?

That's why I no longer have a Skoda, involving the dealership you were once in the employ of, if I'm not mistaken!!!!!

I'll pop along too!!!

Did you actually read the whole thread?
Sorry Q, my speed reading course must have been a waste of time:D
If I can get the car off the Skoda stand onto the Meganesport stand, can I book just the track time with you lot. I fancy my chances better if there are people I know belting round the track, and lessening the odds of Corsa-boy braking late into the back of me etc!!!!! Of course I'll come and show my mug around the stand, would like a closer look at some of these cars I keep reading about anyway.
I'll consult SWMBO and then decide if it's one or two.
Ta,

Seeing as I don't have my Skoda, am I still welcome????
I would like to do it all, but may pop off and see the Megane club stand at some point.

I would do the full works, including track. However as you can see below, would I be allowed on the stand, at the back, out the way??

I had Tavia's old DAB setup, including DAB aerial. Real easy to fit, headlining dropped down, run the co-ax and power feed.....job done. I think it took just over the hour to do the aerial, fit the head unit and interface to my car kit!!!!!
I agree with what has been said, channels usually on MW bands are on DAB....so clear, and you can actually hear what is being said. 5LIVE is the one I got DAB for!!!!

Mine's just had ARB and bushes with 3 months remaining. Apparently one of the bushes has gone and worn the ARB down  , creaking groaning sounds before it was fixed.

Hi all,
On the more colder mornings, when I start the car, the overtemp dash light comes on immediately. It will stay on until I switch off and then back on again. On some of the more average mornings it doesn't happen.
Am I lead to believe that these sensors can get so cold that they think it's hot????
Any ideas??? New sensor needed??
TIA

Fronts discs changed just before 40k and then at 50k, the first set due to wear and the second set due to juddering under braking.....all out of my own pocket!!! I think there may have been a bad batch, but of cause can't prove it for a fact. I sourced my own discs at the 50k change and everything has been fine with the brakes. Dare I say it, being one of those that heartly endorsed Skodas, but I'm loosing my faith in Skoda....I don't particularly like the replacement RS, so will have to look elsewhere I feel.

Been looking into this myself....on paper only unfortunately.
The megane with it's 6.2s to 60, super fast overtaking times ( 30-50, 50-70) even been compared to some 'large' mercs and porsches which can only manage the same in 5 or 6 tenths of a second slower.
Hmmm..............

Just going through this myself, to renew by Saturday.
