  1. jrw, thanks for that, good to know it is usual on these CR DSG's. Yes the handbrake was just to test that brake vacuum was causing the issue (done in safe conditions). I remember on some early DSG PD Golf's they did not pull forward upon releasing the brake, not sure what I prefer.
  2. As per title/ description. I find that when stationary with the brake pressed the engine note changes, if you remove the brake and use the handbrake it is not there. Its like there is a lackof vacuum to the brake servo or something that cause the engine to rumble a little more? Thanks all!
  3. I presume this is to do with the gearbox linkage? Is there any adjustment/ greasing solution/ common problems? Thanks all!
  4. Folows this post: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/pd-tdi-triple-chipping-using-three-go-faster-mods-once/95789/ 1.4 TDI 50-70mph times in various states of tune: Standard 1.4 TDI: 50-70 in 4th > 7.3 sec 50-70 in 5th > 9.3 sec Digital Tuning Box Only (On Auto Calibration Setting - Made by Powerklick): 50-70 in 4th > 5.4 sec 50-70 in 5th > 7.4 sec 111bhp Remap Only: 50-70 in 4th > 4.7 sec 50-70 in 5th > 7.6 sec 111bhp Remap + Digital Tuning Box (On lowest setting 1 (7 being the highest): * Lots of soot!! 50-70 in 4th > 4.4 sec 50-70 in 5th > 6.0 sec For reference a remapped Fabia 1.9 TDI (not vRS) has: 50-70 in 4th > 4.2 sec 50-70 in 5th > 6.5 sec As you can see from the above results the off boost perfomance very good with just a digital tuning box... I would not recommend using both mods together due to the masses of soot produced, you will soon be pulled over! Perhaps a solution would be an RPM cut at 2-3k to turn the digital box off as it is not needed after this point? It really does show there is masses of potential for the little engine!
  5. Yes... FIXED IT!!!!! There was a crimped (previously repaired by Dealer) wire that went from a sensor (must have been crank sensor) around the oil filler area to the loom... then to the ECU I presume.... it looked oxodised so I cut it fresh and re-crimped it - hey presto, starts first time every time now! I'll check tonight using the fault code reader to see what it says now! Either way how come once started the engine ran perfect (i.e. without crank sensor imput?). Thanks all for help - much appreciated!
  6. Oh right... its at the from of the engine? Any photos? Is it near the oil filter? I'll take a look now when I go back to re-connect the battery!
  7. I have heard that 142 bhp and 215f lb/ft of torque are possible from the 1.4 PD TDI. All this with the standard air box too! To do this you need: # PD130 injectors, # hybrid gt12 vnt turbine with a 17/44 compressor housing, # ported head, # pd150 conrods and pistons(lower compression ratio) bear in mind if you do this that the number 1 piston is slightlly different shape to the rest so therefore can only go into the number 1 bore) # custom remap I know its alot of expense as 110-115bhp and 180 lb/ft are possible anyway with just a remap, so you talking ££££ for 30bhp and 35 lb/ft of torque! Has anyone here gone this route or know anyone that has?
  8. Sure... a good idea! I'll try this... I have the digital tuning box turned off at the moment and I did try without the resistor... anyway I'll disconnect the battery right after I try my spare air flow meter. Let you all know.
  9. OK had a look and there is no camshaft sensor it seems? I can't even see any wires on the timing belt side except the boost pressure sensor ones? Anyone got any ideas?
  10. Thanks guys... I will have a look this afternoon on my lunch break - let you know the out come!
  11. Ric04vrs... Thanks for reply! The car runs as usual once it starts, performance is perfect! It just takes about 5/6 attempts before it starts and runs perfect... Sounds like a faulty sensor then... is it hard to remove timing belt cover and replace sensor myself, how do I access it? Cheers!
  12. My PD TDI starts every time and then dies...after 5 or 6 attempts it then runs and drives 100%, is has been doing this for 2 days now. I plugged in VAG fault reader and got: 16275 PO341 Camshaft Position Sensor Circut - Out of range or performance I suspect it may be full or dirt or oil from a mild leak - not sure where it is to check? Can anyone confirm - also any special tools needed to to this or words of warning? Is this a common problem on the PD TDI's, do camshaft position sensors perish with age/ milage? Advice appreciated? ps. I had a cam belt change 1000 miles ago, but can't see that being the problem.
  13. Looking for a ball park figure on a black Octy: Mint condition 2003 35k Reverse Parking Sensors Cruise Control FSH by Skoda VW Sat Nav Radio (with decent speakers) Brembo Junior Brake Discs and Pads (that dont rust when parked up) Jabba Live Remap (does this de-value the car, as I am told it can easily be removed?) Thanks all!
  14. I can't find 205/50/17 ZR in Pirelli Pzero Nero? Des it exist? I am buying 2 front tyres and want max grip in the wet and dry, espically when going for it in 1st and 2nd gear!
