  1. What do you mean clunk?

Like one heavy bang or a "tsk tsk tsk" sort of clatter a few times?

its more of a clatter when switching the engine off...

Unfortunately the xman uprated DMF totally failed and I have received a refund from xman, he no longer sells this uprated DMF/Clutch due to problems with them.

It did not particularly clunk when turning off the engine it just rattled a lot.

I am now using a SMF and it is pretty noisy on idle.

mines like a clunky rattle haha when turning the engine off... to be fair he said he would replace what ever the fault was but still inconvenience for me to get someone to take the clutch out, for me to send it away and my car to be stuck in the garage to wait for a new one... if this is the case how reliable are his turbos???

Phew! I almost fitted one of xman dmfs to mine but opted for a brand new standard setup instead.

Unlucky for Dan! Sounds like it might be faulty?

yeah, not happy with it to be honest mate.. havent got the time or money to be messing around with clutches- just want to fit and forget haha

  2. I have xman DMF and clutch, its the DMF from a 2.0TDI and Clutch from a VW Transporter as far as I know, suppose to be good for 400lbs torque.

Mine is an everyday car and I decided I could not live with a SMF due to the noise, before this setup I had the sachs uprated clutch and sachs DMF, the DMF died before the clutch which is why I wanted to try a different DMF this time.

The xman setup is close to half the price of sachs, when I brought the uprated sachs I think it was around ?1000 with DMF, xman is ?530.

does yours clunk a little when turning the engine off? ive just fitted this clutch and it clunks like mad

  3. I recently fit some AP coilovers to my mk1 fabia VRS and thought that the rear would be lower with it being wound all the way down, does taking the rear adjusters out cause any problems and are there any other ways to make it go lower? is that teh rears all the way down? as in adjuster cups still in? still looks very high!

do you reckon? theres not many about in newcastle like. dont know about where you live

All MK1 Fabia prices have dropped but then there's the MK3 out now meaning it's fairly old and mileages are getting pretty high.

even decent spec minters are fetching sub 2k. my mates  fab with 42k on it went for 3k which i think is an absolute bargain!

Unfortunately age, miles, vehicle condition have to do with price. For a clean example prices are still holding at a good level. When MK3 Fabia's will be on the market as used, then the MK1 will definitely will suffer from bigger price loss.

yeah but i bet they wont make the mk3 with an pd130 diesel lump in it though ;)

Very old car now. Thankfully I still don't see many about. See more Golf R's lol. But certain Facebook pages show it's the modern day nova/corsa/saxo. Hopefully they will crash them all in the years to come.

yeah they are old.. still love mine!

I think if we ride the current chav storm, the numbers will decrease to a point in time when these little unique cars will become desirable again and dare I suggest - increase in value

  5. Abuse.

    Have you tried contacting Powerflex?

abuse as in ragging my car all over? i barely do tbh and surely it couldnt have done this? will be contacting powerflex on monday about it! cheers

    cheers mate!

Looks like someone beat the crap out of it on installation. You have to put them in level which means taking off the end mounting bracket normally.

ive just had a stage 2 clutch fitted recently and when the lad took the mount off he showed me this to which i was suprised. can you put them in using a bench vice?

  6. My second favourite wheel, Porsche twists first then those!

You going to simply VAG soon, weather looks like its improved.

get them bought, what you waiting for lol nah mate, made plans this morn when it was snowing lol have to be next time now lol

  7. As said - have a search as this has been covered time and time again.

I'm currently in the process of upgrading to a GTB1756, it isn't cheap when you bear in mind the other things that need altering (downpipe, oil feed, oil return, EGR delete, then the hassle of a bracket!!) compared to a straight bolt on Hybrid. I'm not sure what the max output of the 1756 is, but as said above, you'll be wanting bigger injectors to reach 250 on any turbo. Have a read of the thread "WARNING TO GTB OWNERS" or something along those lines. That'll give you an idea of what could happen if you try and push to the 250 region.

I would rather have a turbo that is working at 80-90% of it's maximum, hopefully increasing it's reliability/life expectancy, than ringing a turbo's neck and hoping for the best.

Speak to Xman as he is an encyclopaedia of knowledge regarding turbo's and very helpful indeed.

    cheers mate!

  8. I fitted a GT1752 on mine, remapped to 220bhp no problem on a smooth map as the standard clutch started to slip.

on a side note, i've heard good things about your car (if it was you) a friend seen it recently and said it was very clean!

the possibilities are endless in turbos! haha i try to keep it as clean as possible! be sure to say hello if you see me around. (black fabia vrs with anthercite BBS RW's)

  9. Gtb is great but make sure you research thouroughly, as all the little extra bits you need cost £££- xman can supply a full kit with all the bits needed, my dealing with him was excellent and always replies to messages very quickly.

i want to shoot for around 250, realistically could a gt1756 reach that? i think im gunna rule the gtb option out too much ££££ lol

You're better off doing a search on the forums as this has/is/will be discussed for quite some time. Long story short GTB is very good compared to a hybrid PD150 however recently their has been talk of issues with pushing to far on the standard injectors and having engine problems. Your better off finding a decent mapper who will take this into consideration if you go the 1756 route.

    thanks man!
