  1. If ur checking eBay Mk1 Octavia rails fit as well.
  2. Is Triple QX any good? I've used Valvoline in the past.
  3. Yeah you need about 4.3-.45 ltrs for a full oil change.
  4. Just given mine and the missus a christmas clean Although I think I need to buy a new air blower and filter box.
  5. Try applying a small amount of copper grease on the backs of the pads. However Jim H is right that it's just overnight rust. Play in the front wheel could either be worn track rods or wheel bearings.
  6. It does sound like a fan on the way out. I'll try the WD40 trick and keep and eye on it.
  7. Thanks for the link, looks like I'll be busy in the new year :(
  8. Recently I've noticed I'm getting a squeeking noise when the fans are on any setting above 2. I've changed my pollen filter and had a quick feel for any debris but the noise is still on going. Any advice on how to tackle this issue? Thanks Paul.
  9. The bosch aerotwins seems to be the pick for everyone (inc me )
  10. I ended up getting one of the refurb kits off eBay for around £250 but this included pads, discs and carriers plus the calipers were painted red.
  11. My dad uses something similar for his front screen and last year it left scratches on his A pillar - it all depends how tight it can be (the tighter the better)
  12. Also maybe once a month giving it a good run out to "stretch it's legs" - esp if your only doing a few minutes a time.
  13. Mine was standard until the warranty ran out
  14. I thought the fabia took G12 - is it a case of just "at least G12"? Also just a bit of info - my SE has an issue on cold days where the warning light comes on - I intend to have the bottle changed as the sensor is acting up.
  15. I voted other and recommend the 312mm brake setup you can buy off ebay. costs around £270 I think but well worth the money. I wouldn't bother with a remap until you have a good way of stopping your self.
  16. Well if you think about it their 5 years old now and some are showing the typical problems one gets around that mileage (bushes, timing belt service etc etc). I'm not suprised some people are selling them on.
  17. I do think it is a "get out of jail free card" by using the excuse of poor fitting. I didn't realise the product on that site was a gates kit. Thanks for the link
  18. Can anyone link me a site that sells the gates kit? Thanks.
  19. I think the idea of wrapping it might be best - or try and get a cheap second hand bonnet.
  20. How have you found using your car with a 3rd party timing kit?
  21. I run 215 - to be honest I've seen people run both 205 and 215 with no issues. However if you have a 17" rim you best with 40 profile rather than 45 as you wont run the risk of rubbing (and in the future if you want to lower it).
  22. OK I've done console changes using both the cupra ones and the powerflex ones. IMHO I'd recommend spending the extra and going with powerflex. As mentioned above, they come in two parts which makes refitting the wishbone alot easier than the cupra ones. Also you need to "press" in the cupra ones using a special tool (most people home make them or get a metal company to do it). The power flex ones are geat. Slide in the outer ring and pop the inter ring on the wishbone - then simply use the copper slip provided and slide in. Because their circular you can the rota the wishbone up to the desired point for the front bolt to fit through. you can't do this with the cupra ones and doubled our install time for the wishbone because of it. Also if you haven't already I'd recommend changing you anti-roll bar bushes - pretty simple to do and as you have the car off the road you may as well do it. Those bushes are around £20 while the consoles are about £47. Hope this helps.
  23. Can anyone recommend a site that sells the timing belt kit and water pump that are geniuine parts? Also is it normal for a company to ask for a return of your old water pump? Make me think the ones they sell are rebuilds rather than new parts.
