  1. I have just done this for the 17" Scutus wheels on my Karoq. The centre caps came from Amazon, cost £12.95 and are a very good firm fit. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Skoda-Centre-Badges-Octavia-Superb/dp/B01IY7ZM1C/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=skoda+wheel+centre+caps&qid=1686571903&sr=8-1 The wheel nut covers came from ebay as mentioned in another post and cost £24.99. Total cost £37.94 and a worthwhile improvement on the cheesegraters. I did find putting on the wheel nut covers for the anti-theft bolts to be a bit of a challenge as they are a very tight fit. In the end I used a 22mm socket to hold the cap which then allowed it to be aligned correctly and then have the required pressure applied. Hope this helps anyone else who has the same problem.
  2. Project update - now complete. In addition to the spacesaver wheel & tyre, I also bought a plastic tray off eBay (described as "tailored heavy duty boot floor liner mat") to provide a hidden compartment. It is arranged as follows: wheel well covered by the loose double-sided rigid mat that came with the car, then the plastic tray and finally the original boot floor - see photos. Given that the plastic tray is not very strong, I may need to put some blocks of wood in it whenever we carry something really heavy in the boot - suitcases etc. It's a pity that the Karoq doesn't come with a variable boot floor as standard as retrofitting appears to be expensive judging by the Kamiq thread on the subject. Many thanks to all who contributed to this Karoq thread and I hope that it proves useful to others.
  3. Many thanks once again Carlston for your invaluable advice. I have tracked down a suitable space-saver wheel/tyre (125/70R18 5x112) on ebay and it should arrive next week. I have also ordered one of those wheel alignment guide tools - I have never come across such a thing before and it is just what I need - every car should have one! Regarding where to put a full size wheel in the event of a puncture, our car is rarely used with more than two people in it so I would just put it in the boot. I always carry a strong plastic groundsheet in the car so would wrap it in that to keep the boot clean. I will provide a further update after installation of the space-saver.
  4. An update on progress on my 2wd Karoq. I bought the polystyrene foam insert and tools kit and installed them without problem -see photos before and after. I then removed one of the road wheels to see if it would fit in the wheel well in the boot - it didn't as the diameter is greater than the space available. The other important thing, for me, is that the 17" wheel and tyre is very heavy. I am not a big burly bloke and I struggled to lift it into the boot for the size test. It was even worse when refitting the wheel and it took me ages to get it in exactly the right position for the bolts to bite. It would be a total nightmare to change a wheel by the roadside in daylight, let alone at night..... This is leading to me thinking that the best option would be to buy a space-saver tyre and wheel as a) it would fit in the boot well properly and b) should be a bit easier to change a wheel if the need ever arises. I just need to know the correct size - is it 125/70 D17 ? Any other thoughts before I go any further? Thanks for all the help so far.
  5. Hi Carlston, Many thanks for your comprehensive message - very informative and useful. I take your point about ordering the 57A093860 foam kit first before doing anything else so I will do that and see where we go. Thanks again.
  6. I'm a newbie here and have been following this thread with interest. I have recently purchased a nearly new 2WD Karoq 1.5 TSi SE Drive with 17" wheels. It comes, of course, with a can of gunge in lieu of a spare wheel and I would much prefer a full-size spare on a steel rim. Reading this thread, it seems that I need the following items: - a 57A093860 kit - a 215x55x17 tyre to match the ones on the car - a steel wheel which I believe should be a 7J 17 ET45 5x112 pcd The hard part is finding the steel wheel. I have looked on the MyTyres website and the nearest that I can find is Alcar Steel wheel 9021 6,5J 17 ET38 5x112 17 Inch which is listed for a Skoda Kodiaq (the MyTyres database for the Karoq looks well out of date as it shows only 16 inch wheels). I see that this topic at www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/509941-tyres-again-7j-or-75j/ states that a 6.5J rim will take a 215/55R17 tyre and will give a medium to hard ride so the 6,5J rim may be the one to go for. Have I got anything wrong with any of the above before I start purchasing things? Any help and suggestions greatly appreciated!
  7. New Briskoda user here. Had an Octavia Combi 4*4 some years ago in France - great car! Now back in the UK and have just bought a nearly-new Karoq 1.5 Tsi SE Drive. Have a few questions so you will see me in the Karoq forums soon........
