This is the old,you are deemed more responsible if you in a relationship LOL. Had this myself 1 year when I put the girlfriend on the policy, group 16 mk1 vrs octavia and swmbo on a provisional license, the premium reduced by £200, she only drove it once.

I'm 38 with 9 years protected no claims, think the most I paid for car insurance was £750 on my 2002 vrs but at the time I was in my late 20's.Think some ringing around is due,to try to play some of these insurance companies off against each other. ;-)

Who's that with? My renewal on a 2.0tsi 2011 vrs estate has just come in at £378 and I thought that was ok.
-
It's still got the original number plates on,as Lea Hall skoda went bump quite a while ago.

Thought for a moment that it was my old vrs,1 letter out, DU02 OEE. Looks a nice car.

how about these wheels....
Like those wheels more, now the itch has begun, when does the modding begin? I'd be interested to see what the Audi RS3 wheels would look like.

picked up a brand new greenline on thursday and liking it so far. everytime I switch ignition off I get 'check deadlock - see manual' on the maxidot. relevent section of manual reads like chinese to me :( . I gather its something to do with safelock. what does it mean?.
Also anyone got any tips for removing vinyl decals as those greenline logos on wing need to go!.
Mat
Check deadlock is a reminder so that you don't lock any unsuspecting passengers in the car as the interior handles don't work.

Yep, mine has an sigma alarm fitted, I have the instructions etc that states it was fitted at the main dealer when the car was new rather then the factory and works with the standard key fobs, the instructions state that it's an alarm that upgrades the standard cat 2 immobiliser to a cat 1 alarm system
+1 ,but I think it was a scorpion alarm the dealers fitted as the upgrade on mine, with a total closure function.

Just wondering if my old vrs is back on this forum,it got part ex'ed back in January,it woulld be nice to know if it still being looked after. The number plate ended 02 OEE

Am I right in reading that, the coilpacks have not failed to the point of generating a fault code, but are still causing issues? The reason I ask is my tsi vrs isn't particularly smooth around the 2000rpm mark and I just assumed it was something to do with emission control as the turbo was spooling up.

It's gearbox specific. Part number 8J0 711 046 A fits the MQ250 gearbox, 8J0 711 046 B fits the MQ350 gearbox.
You'll need to check which one you've got, it's cast on the lever under the airbox.

Seriously? What the hell? How is this related to oil temp?!!!
Mind you, nobody seems to know what "SAFE" Locking means so who knows!
Safe locking, I believe is a reminder about the dead locks when you lock the car,it does mention it somewhere in the handbook

I don't know how many of you have spotted this on you tube:
,but does this mean a limited edition vrs is getting closer to our UK shores?

Why not just get the sun shades http://www.vanstyle.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/products_id/3947 then if you don't like them you can just put them back in the boot?

Is it a switchable APR map? if so is it in the valet mode?

Had my new vrs from Palmers mid January, didn't particularly like the insistance of the money for the car being paid out 2 days before collection, but I am happy with the car and the deal was good.I did give the car a good clean and polish when I got it home and I was quite amazed at the filth that came off it.Palmers have recently sent a text and a letter insisting the car needs a interim service, which I realise is b****cks.

Check for small rust marks, especially on the back of the car I had to use some ironx to remove it on mine.It is from the transport of the car on a train and it is the brake dust residue,it just happens to be alot more noticable on a white car.

Did u get the car from Palmers skoda? recently part ex'ed to there plate **02*EE

Get it code read to set you off in the right direction for fault diagnosis.

Hi all, my car hasnt been running to its full potential lately, ever since the remap its been getting slower and quite juddery as you ease off the throttle.
Anyway spent a hour or so this morning and used a t piece in a vac pipe off the inlet manifold to run to the dump valve and runs so much better!! It ran the same for about 2 miles or so then just all of a sudded ran spot on! Power comes in so much better now!
I havent removed the whole system just in case it didnt make a blind bit of difference, but ill end up removing all the rest at some point!
Oh and just for the record its a Octavia Vrs 1.8t with 110k and stage one revo and no other mods
Have you checked the lower boost pipe for a boost leak ,the o ring seal is prone to fail especially when the boost increases ( part number 06A 145 790C )

The best mod I made to the car was the single mass flywheel and the drive feels the same as the dualmass.
-
If memory serves me right didn't the estate sit on 16'' wheels instead of 17'',with a smaller rolling radius ,that would lower the car slightly compared to the saloon.
Paint work
in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)

Why not try the warranty?Nothing to lose, surely the paint should be able to cope with a pressure washer.
