  1. one of the flat metal blade fuses on the top of the battery will do the job. you need 8 or 10mm socket to unscrew the wire or remove the fuse
  2. yes this is right. officially BLT engines were fitted from october 2005 so cars registered after that time should have BLT engines. from september 2005 you have 55 plate so most of the cars on 55 plate or up will be BLT
  3. hi! first thing i would do is to check the battery / alternator / wiring as suggested above as this is the most common problem. maybe your battery is not fully charged after winter... the other question: NO the new style sensor (double blade) is 99% NOT gonna work with your power steering pump. it is gonna plug in fine but most likely you will get NO COMMUNICATION error between the pump and sensor
  4. mine is not. second hand unit with 2k miles on it...
  5. dealer cannot do that with second hand speedo - only brand new one - and they are still unhappy to change from standard to maxidot... so... is there anybody that can do that? I heard Shark can pull the SKC out but they too far away from me..
  6. vag tacho is working only up to around 2006 cars... and it is LOGIN you get not SKC. genuine vag commander (around £4000) will get the skc codes.. just looking for cheaper alternative...
  7. have same problem. 2009 superb. have a maxidot waiting to be fitted but no skoda service can do that... also didn't find anybody local to get me SKC codes out of both my car and the one i have the speedo from...
  8. don't have any good pictures at the moment but it is the part you removed to paint the slam panel where the cable attaches to. once you loosen the 4 bolts you can move it left and right AND up and down and it should give you loots of play. it is easier to do that with grill removed so you can adjust once the bonnet is locked. also once you do that you can still use the rubber stop buffers (they screw in and out) to fine adjust each corner.
  9. to drop the bonnet down you have to adjust the lock only. 4 torx (2 at the top of the lock and 2 at the bottom). it should give you about 10mm to play with up or down.
  10. yes you are right... what about v5 then? 170 bhp as standard but is there any hidden power in it? chip without turbo is not gonna make much difference probably.. what about sticking turbo on it? i have one of them at work for spares with coilpack problem... i will have a good look how big it is and if there is enough space for turbo. i already have electric leather seats from it but it looks like bit of a pain to fit them in fabia due to different rails and mounts.. :(
  11. what do you mean by what CAN network issues are you thinking about? i was thinking about full conversion including wiring loom and ALL ecu's so not expecting any electrical problems...
  12. maybe new TFSI then ? 2.0 TFSI (BWJ) 241BHP as standard fitted in LEON so should fit spacewise, then bigger turbo and new map...
  13. what about audi TT 1.8T 225BHP 4x4 ? there would be a little bit of playing with the rear suspension mainly but is that not worth it? or maybe MK4 Golf V6 4 Motion?
  14. part number 1K0 035 501 E (shark fin type with rod from basic SE) it looks like it is radio + GSM but there is space to fit GPS antena inside as well 2 plugs on this one according to ETKA 1K0 035 501 F is the one with GPS antena built in so 3 plugs
