  1. Given that you have blocked me from sending further PMs to you, I am unable to find out what it is that you're referring to. I have created a thread in the Shark forum for you to post in, if you'd prefer that rather than PM. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/238192-john-y-your-response-and-questions-thread/page__fromsearch__1
  2. I sent you a PM to discuss your bad feeling towards us. A PM is exactly that - private, a conversation between you and I. You have eluded to a response being required to something and I have asked for you to clarify via PM. I'm sure we can deal with this professionally.
  3. There is absolutely nothing "generic" about our custom remaps, this car was tuned by Mikko on the dyno as I'm sure the customer will verify. If you personally have a problem with our maps or services (which it is pretty evident that you do), then I invite you to telephone us or indeed visit us at one of the many trade shows we exhibit at every year around the country to discuss it. GTI International is our next show if that helps. In the meantime may I suggest you stop attempting to scare our potential and existing customers off by referring to an old propaganda thread, that was written without the customers' consent by one of our competitors, which is an absolute non-issue for anyone but yourself (including the customer in question). We're not the kind of company to go around slagging others off, but if you'd like to hear a few stories of us fixing cars and maps from various competitors, and what actually goes on inside an ECU map, then we'd be happy to actually show you and explain every detail to you if you'd like.
  4. Just to clarify I was talking about the new shape Vito not the old FWD ones. I'm surprised at all the negativity, mine has 235k on the clock and looked fresh, it was a really smart van and was so much better to drive than a Transporter.
  5. Having driven several T5s and owning a Merc Vito.. I'd have the Vito every time I'm afraid.
  6. BroTek are one of our dealers, and all our pricing and details can be found at www.sharkperformance.co.uk Hope this helps
  7. We don't list it on the site as it's not available via dealers, so it's more of an "ask" service if you like. It's £249 including VAT or £199 to customers with one of our remaps.
  8. Hi Carl The choice is entirely yours, but what we usually do (and by no means limited to) Alter gear/rpm limits so the car doesn't always want to be in 6th gear at 30mph (how annoying) Remove automatic upshift when in manual mode (car will rev to ECU RPM limiter instead) Alter RPM limiter/upshift point at WOT in automatic mode to 7,000rpm Increase torque limiter to 450Nm Increase clutch clamping pressures to ensure higher torque is catered for Marginally faster gear changes Sorry if I've missed anything, I'm a bit rusty
  9. Unfortunately the STS cannot deliver DSG software. We do offer a remap for the 1.8TSI but it appears to be missing from the Octavia listing for some reason. STS works on the earlier ones, but the later ones have ECU protection which means they cannot be remapped over the OBD port. How old is your car?
  10. Yes we can and do remap the latest 2011/2012 6speed DSG gearboxes, we had a 2012 S3 in yesterday having one done. If by the power loss issue, you mean can you brake with your left foot without the ECU cutting power, then we have been doing this on manual cars for a long time, if requested. The DSG has it's own ideas about this and we've neer been asked to look at that, but we'd be very happy to whilst your car is in with us.
  11. Sounds like a great resource!
  12. Thanks for the kind comments! The customer ordered that turbo themselves, I think it was a CR Turbos Hybrid but can't be certain. The owner is a member on here but they seldom post.
  13. It depends really, I'd estimate half a day but in reality could take longer.
  14. Yes I know.. a least now I can use a laptop and I am allowed to drive again, so can be seen haunting the office at HQ on occasion
  15. Sorry to hear that you still were not happy Ollie. Through map updates and hardware fixes I'm sure that everyone running a Shark map with a "surge" problem has been sorted out, and if they haven't then please contact us of course. As I'm sure you are aware, we've had the dyno at the new premises for coming up to a year now, but I understand that you had visited us a few times and perhaps didn't want to come back for fear of wasting your time. You won't have the same issue with the A4 1.8T as it doesn't have the same issue within the base software that seems to exacerbate the symptoms.
  16. Every remap will have the same effect on warranty
  17. I'm sorry you think that £500 (including VAT, we're only actually charging £416) is too much, but sometimes you have to pay for expertise, not to mention the dyno time on a brand new, state of the art dyno. 218.6hp 462Nm and smoother than Barry White making a mucky phonecall. Fabia VRS with hybrid turbo and Seat Sport intercooler
  18. I should be there, depending on how I feel in the morning
  19. I've just ordered B14s for my V50. I have no experience of the B12s but what I do know of Bilstein, they won't be "rock hard". We're an approved Bilstein supplier, so give us a call for a price if you decide to go ahead
  20. Brimma - JPS Octavia/Fabia Monte Carlo vrsadz - fabia vrs Octimark - Octavia TFSI & hopefully 2 more TBC Mr Goldfinger. Octavia Vrs/ Fabia MKII VRS, we'll see Softscoop - Fabia vRS Nem - Blue Titty shark_90 - Volvo of much torque
  21. I'll be late, as I'm looking after The Boy until 8:15pm.
  22. The ECU is a Bosch EDC17CP14 and the processor itself it an Infineon TC1796 in the Octavia CR170
  23. Brimma - JPS Octavia/Fabia Monte Carlo Softscoop - Fabia vRS vrsadz - fabia vrs jtb1994 - Fabia shark_90 - Volvo of much torque
  24. We've done several PD140 4x4s and are based in Mansfield, for the 4x4 we charge £499 inc VAT for Stage 0 DPF removal (i.e. DPF removal but no major increase in power) and £719 inc VAT for Stage 1 DPF removal with power increase. It sounds like we're a little more expensive but do have the experience with the mechanicals and the tuning (the PD140 4x4 DPF uses a different ECU to the more common PD170).
