  1. Nothing's unreadable. Returning that car to standard and remapping it would be no problem.
  2. Good working map files are given away for free all over the internet. Honest.
  3. That fault code is only common when the wrong version of software has been uploaded to the car.
  4. Pretty common with remaps from that provider. To the right of that picture you've taken it will show a 4 digit software version number, if you compare that number to the one printed on your ECU case under the bonnet, you'll find that they don't match. Your ECU may be something like 038906019LA in large letter, and 5405 (guess) in small letters. Compare those numbers to the ones you see in VCDS and you'll see that they don't match. To fix the error code, the car needs to be flashed with the correct version of software.
  5. That is very tempting! Open pit lane too
  6. A stage 1 remap is meant to be for a stock car, our stage 1 maps certainly are and therefore don't require any other modifications such as FMIC, exhausts etc. Our maps are very smooth rather than clutch killers, obviously if the clutch is already badly worn then there's a chance that the extra power will send it over the edge, but very, very rarely.
  7. Our map for the 1.9TDI Fabia (including VRS) is £299 including VAT, cruise control is £240 including VAT for the Fabia I.
  8. As far as I'm aware Ollie's car is fine after several tests (thanks to Ollie) and I believe morgan349 had a refund.
  9. So long as the customer is happy now that's all that matters. We've mapped scores of Mk1 Octavias without a hint of trouble, but a very small number have experienced this "surging" problem and have posted about it. It's a very small percentage of customers and we have worked with most of them to resolve it (which we have done successfully) and for those who didn't want that, they have had refunds. Some of them have moved to other tuners and been happy, others have moved and still had problems. Some have chased the problem down with their cars and solved it.
  10. I'm sorry to have to interject here, and I don't really want to stir this up any more, nor am I having a go at Awesome, but this post is in the Fabia I section so there's no reason that I shouldn't post. The map that was on Gavin's car didn't suit Gavin because of his driving style, it didn't suit him because it bellowed plumes of unburnt diesel out of the exhaust pipe. Furthermore, it made nearly 40hp less than quoted. If it'd have made 240hp then perhaps the smoke would have been a worthwhile price to pay, however it didn't even get close.
  11. That's AEB and AJL with the external waterpump, AGU is internal driven from the cambelt.
  12. It would be rare if it was the ECU, it does happen. If you end up needing an ECU then talk to us first, we can help at a lot less than half of the price of a new one!!
  13. This is a really difficult one, but given that automatic finance is provided then I don't see why it's a problem. Perhaps the thought of £35k+ debt might put those off who are railroaded into uni because they assume it's the best thing to do, or go because they have the ability and want to postpone actually having to get out into the big wide world by a few years. Let's be honest, we all know what happens when a student loan/grant comes through for a large majority of students. And it's not buying course materials and budgeting the next 6 months of living costs is it. There's also a lot of chuff when it comes to courses. I remember a stat from a couple of tears ago about there being more media students in one year, than there are media industry jobs in the country. Or something.
  14. Fixed price servicing options now released - see our forum for details!

  15. The 105 and 130PS engines are different, with a different turbo and injectors amongst other things
  16. Well it's virtually impossible to say without seeing the car, but if it's a good map running around 140hp then those two things together should be fine.
  17. £9999 for a Metro in drag? I'm alright thanks.
  18. Which Audi was sold with the same unit as the Fabia with 140hp?? (I'm sure there isn't one) Furthermore the estimated output is absolutely not representative of how long the car will last.. It purely relies on how the map is written. The PD105 is good for 140 or so, possibly 150 for a very short time.
  19. It isn't the same engine, there are many differences although some inconsequential, you could probably steal parts from the AUQ to fit the AGU to make it work but it won't be a simple swap. Look out for an AUQ or AUM, they are physically identical.
  20. It must have been strapped down hard to lose 52hp from tyres to flywheel!
