It doesn't really work like that. There may be 15,000 maps but that doesn't mean a thing, because you don't know whats inside those maps. Something like a Revo map or any other big tuning company is developed and tested and tweaked to perfection. Anything could be inside the file that you choose, and unless you can load the map into an editor like WinOLS and understand it (which if you could, you wouldn't need a DVD with 15.000 maps on it) then you're taking your engines life into your own hands.

It's not just the tool, you need the map as well. What you have there is a Chinese clone of a very very old tool, good luck if you try to use it.

Shark open day bank hoilday monday
shark_90 replied to Ant-Vrs's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Watch out for the mobile speed camera at the bottom of that hill, they've recently moved the beginning of the 40 limit forward by 400 yards and like to stick a van just around the corner to catch people who are doing above 40 on a dual carriageway that used to be 70.. -
Programming new keys and fobs in
shark_90 replied to Volvomeg's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
We could do it for £30, if you don't mind a little drive. You can't just do it with VAG com, you need your SKC as well -
If the car's properly strapped down it shouldn't move enough to fall off. Note the strapping down method - infact strapping "down" isn't correct it should be strapped "on". If it's strapped by one single strap through the towing eye (check Evo vid) then you're asking for trouble.

Which is complete rubbish and all part of the usual sales patter. A remap is detectable. It takes 5 minutes to read from a 1.9TDI ECU and compare it to a standard map. You could even train a monkey to do it. Don't get me wrong, I want people to bring their cars in for mapping as much as the next tuning company, but customers generally hear what they want to hear. Most tuning companies will hit you with the "not detectable" thing but we're more professional than that and would rather tell the truth and the whole truth, even if it means losing a sale.

Fuel pump failure mkII vRS TFSI
shark_90 replied to Morley's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Try the low pressure fuel pump sensor. A friend of mine had similar symptoms and this was the fix. -
VAG Parts were in Swindon, quite a way from Malvern, I guess it's possible that it's someone related but who knows! Edit: Just seen a contact name of Noel and there wasn't a Noel at VAG Parts.

DPF Issue Sorted At Fraction Of The Cost PD 170
shark_90 replied to tom1362's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Yes you do have to remap the ECU to remove the DPF functions and most importantly the regeneration functions. -

Delayed auto open / ignition?
shark_90 replied to Davey_vRS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Sounds like a sticky ignition barrel, not common but it happens. Try some WD40 in the lock barrel -

355mm VW RACING Calipers, discs, pads!
shark_90 replied to vRS_Pagey's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I used to run 350s on 17s but they were a very skinny caliper radially compared to most monoblocks.. possible though on 18s! -
For the RR day any time before, or on the day (but it is more expensive if left until the day and paying beforehand secures your place )
-
The Revo would need to be removed prior to us working on it, if we wrote over their map then it wouldn't start.
-
The copied versions of VAG Tacho as available on everybody's favourite auction site generally works on the instrument cluster, they don't work on the ECU as far as I know, but most professional tools work on both.
-
We have an RR day coming up and would be happy to run it in both modes for a half-scientific test

Someone banned from SCN? I don't believe it.

VCDS is VCDS, and there's so many counterfeits around that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
