  1. Hi Mate

Dealers will charge you a fortune for that.

In fact they would have to go to Blaupunk or the manufacturer.

Where I live there is a little car spares shop who can do it.

If you look in the local papers you could find someone who could come out to do it at your house and they are cheaper.

But check your handbook to see if it is in there.

It is a 4 number code.

    Check all round the books.

Also I have known for people to write it on the chassis so it could be worth checking that too.

  2. Hi

There are only 2 filters that it could be 074115562 is now starting to be superceeded by the 071115562A.

    These dealers are dramatic.

But I think you will find that all the Fabia PD engines are the 07111 ones.

The 074115562 are the Octavia ones IIRC

The oil if you go to a dealer they should have the PD oil in.

That part number is ZGB115QLB00462 and this retails for £29.71 + VAT for 5 litres.

    Hope this helps you all.

  3. Hi

    We deal with Milotec

I have the latest books here with the parts that we can order for you.

Some are available within a couple of days.

That sounds like it is coming from Germany. :(

Milotec have some great bits in.

Just the little touches can make all the difference.

  4. Hi

The paint code for Diamon Silver Metalic is 9102

This will be the same on all this colour as they have it on the Felicia , Fabia and Octavia`s.

So yes this will be right.

You should also have this number on the sticker inside the service book.

If you still do not get it from there then the dealers could just finnish off the check for you.

They have a mail computer that will give you all the info you require.

    But Diamond Silver is 9102

  5. Is there a a likely chance that wheel alignment is out with only a 25mm drop?

    :)

There is a likely chance that the alignment would be out with just working on the front of the car on the suspension.

Even replacing anti roll bars we do the 4 wheel lazer alignment afterwards.

You would be a bit miffed if you had all that done and then your steering wheel was not straight.

    So for

  6. Hi Sarah' date='

Maybe a daft question, but is that price just the labour, or does it include the Eibach shocks and springs?

Seriously tempted (once I get a lodger!).

What's the most popular set up your customers go for? I want one that plants the car on the road, but does'nt rattle my fillings more than the standard Furby Vrs set up does.

    Cheers v much...[/quote']

    Hi

I would say that the most popular is the Eibach springs alone.

But then we have done a few with the Koni dampers.

We have also done some coilovers on Josh`s car.

This REALLY made the car look awesome!!!!

He had it lowered to the maximum he could get away with.

Even made a GB on the sump guard.

    But the Eibach springs are

  7. Hi Lummox

    Thank you for that.

I sometimes think I dream things.

I seem to remember that I had a car in for warranty claim as the oil light was on even when the level was ok.

All switches ok but found to be a fault on the micro switch on bonnet catch?

Weired but at least I am not mad yet

  8. Wow

That was a really nice write up thank you.

I am glad I got the gal mention ;)

Thank you I will make sure that James gets to see a copy of this.

Thank you for the kind words and as you said James can give you a smooth remap for your car.

Yes as I said when you have the brakes together give us a call and we will fit them for you.

The problem is at the moment we do try to help everyone but this can take time and we are looking to be able to give more time to people.

We will hopefully be able then to be more individual to your requirements then and be able to assit you a bit more.

    Thank you

  9. Yes it does seem that some dealers do not know about servicing cars.

When you take your car in for a service , get the fulkl anual inspection.

There is no point taking it back 3 months after the oil and filter change for the inspection.

Then the 20k service and second inspection would be due 10,000 miles or 1 year after the first one.

But to let you know too that nowdays you do not have to take your car in to a dealer for servicing to keep up with warranty.

As long as the garage is VAT registered it will NOT invalidate the warranty.

Keep to service schedual and you dont even HAVE to use OEM parts too.

But just be careful on that one , dont go on to cheap rubbish.

We use OEM parts with oil from the dealers too.

So you could end up saving yourself quite a bit of money through shopping about.

Oh and we do a full diagnostic check as part of the service too.

  10. Hi

To change the springs and shockers would be £120.00 + VAT.Then the 4 wheel lazer alingment £38.00 + VAT

If you was to do just the springs you would be looking at the same price.

But if you was to do the springs then go to do the shockers at a later date you would be looking at the same again.

So that is how I said you pays your money and takes your choice.

When we do the lowering springs though we do the little mod for the bump stops too.

    Sarah

  11. Hi

The labour time to replace the springs is the same for springs and dampers.

So to that extent it does save you some money to start with by replacing them both at the same time.

You would also have to do the alignment both times too.

You could fit standard shockers at the same time to save money but it would be the springs that lower it.

Another thing to take in to account would be the age and mileage of the old springs.

If you have done close or over 40k then I would have thought that it would be worth replacing them at the same time as the springs as they would be on the way out anyway.

    Sarah

  12. I have looked in to this before.

If you use your car on a daily basis and do a little off road on the track it is not really worth going on to the dot 5.1

As long as you replace the brake fluid every 2 years as required you would not see much of a benifit with the 5.1

Just use a good quality dot4 and you should be ok

It is to do with boiling point.

    Sarah

  13. Hi

    That is ok.

It has been noted on here that the Eibachs do seem to be a good mod.

Lowering of around 30mm front and rear.

It will make the shockers wear a bit quicker but if the car is new then you get your moneys worth.

But just a note that it is the same amount of labour for replacing the springs as the springs and shockers.

So again it is up to the individual.

I would say around the 40k miles mark is about the mileage for thinking about shockers at the same time.

    Sarah

  14. I am afraid I have to agree with everyone on here.

It will not be a good idea to put on 2 boxes to give you increased power.

    Because it will not.

You have been informed that the tuning boxes will just overfuel and that has been mentioned many times on here.

So by adding another do you seriously think that it will make it faster?

    I dont think so.

There is a reason why tuning boxes are cheap and that remaps are more expensive.

So you pays your money and takes your choice.

I am afraid you will not get anyone on here to agree with what you are doing.

If you want advise , you have had the advise and that is dont do it.

Good luck with your quest for cheap power.

If you do get to find out please let us all know.

    Sarah

  15. Hi

If you had the 20k service done last year then I suspect that you will be requiring a 30k in respect.

This would include the oil and oil filter replacement.

As for the technologies that the dealers have it is VERY good.

But I have seen here some real horror stories as to what the dealers have done.

So in thar respect it is ok to have the technology but need someone to work it.

We have 2 technicians here who can put a 1.8T engine in to a Skoda Felicia Fun.

So I think that yes our technicians know how to use the computers that they have.

The brake fluid is required every 2 years.

So if you had the 4th year service then it would not require this until the year after.

I was a service manager for a Skoda dealer for 4 and a half years and 1 in sales.

So I do know the cars well.

We also have the respect for your cars and do treat them as if they was our own.

All that on top of £40.00 + VAT labour rate then you should know that you are getting all the benifits in return.

    Sarah

  16. Hi Dave

Yes pop long and see us.

I have just cleaned my office so it looks tidier now ;)

Yes coilpacks are covered in to a 5th year of warranty on the 1.8T engines.

They had a few problems with a particular part number.

If you have them in your engine these should be replaced by a dealer and get it FOC under warranty.

They do not have to have gone down to be replaced just replaced if you have the old type.

I saw a thread on here today with some great pictures of the different coil packs I will see if I can find it again and post you up a link for it.
