  1. Oh and yes you DO NOT loose warranty by having the car service at another garage.

We can reccomend anything that requires checking by warranty which we have done in the past.

We also know of common faults on the car.

Plus as sad as I am I can still remember part numbers and supersessions.

I also have the ability to check on ETCA for the parts.

  2. I worked for a dealer for 5 years on the warranty , service , parts side.

I knew of the majority of recalls.

Yes ok there are some that I may not know.

But I can assure you that the majority of dealers will NOT go to the computer and check to see if there is a recall on your car.

Lummox I am sorry but I know that for a fact.

It is a shame but I also know that the dealer I worked at had a young apprentice that did the majority of the service work.

He was hard working and did the job correctly.

But that young lad would do up to 6 services in a day.

  3. Hi

With the introduction of block excemrtion you can have your car serviced anywhere as long as they are VAT registered and use GENUINE parts.

If you go on to variable serviceing you will require the Castrol oil which retails quite high , but if you do alot of miles will work out cheeper as you would be missing a service in effect.

Yes as you say it is basicly an oil and oil filter change.

But as it is first service it requires quite a few checks as this is the first inspection the car has after it has been under load and a few journeys.

  4. Hello and welcome.

You will find that we have lots of meets on here.

They are all a very friendly and helpfull bunch on here.

Keep an eye out for the meets that go off around you.

I went to a little meet near me in Sheffield for sunday lunch and it was a great day out.

    Enjoy

  5. Common across the VAG range. Five minute warranty job.

    Yes it is very common.

The relay is built in to the hazzard unit.

Not that expensive if it is not covered under warranty either.

Just remove the little trim on the hazzard switch.

Pull out the switch , remove the plug.

Plug in new switch push back in and replace little trim.

    Job done.

    Easy

  6. I have seen a few of these Felicia`s.

The nicest was a Dark Blue Metallic one.

    It had blue leather interior.

    Electric windows.

    Oooooo it was nice.

But it did not have power steering.

Very heavy and a lovely little old lady driving it.

Laugh at her car though and she probably give you a good righ hander as she must have had muscles like Garth.

    Low milage it was .......

  7. Well you first of all want to speak with the service manager.

    Tell him what has happened.

If no joy speak with the Dealer Principle.

If no joy then on to Customer Care.

Yes the price you paid was ALOT.

The oil is pretty steep too.

It can help by saying that you are on Briskoda and will name and shame if you do not get a reduced service price for the next one or some refund.

Also get them to top up the oil.

If I remember correctly it only holds 4.5 litres.

  8. Hi

Yes it can be turned off.

This can be done at a dealer as there are a number of forms to be filled in.

Just give your local dealer a call and they should be able to help you.

Oh and welcome to a great forum with lots of helpfull people.

    Good choice of car.

  9. I always thought that the slight pull to the left was down to the natural camber of the road so ease rain pooring away to the side of the road.

When I was learning for the DAS on bikes thats what my instructor told me.

Thats why you dont drive so close to the kerb.

But hey he was an idiot ;)

As for the problem , yes could be the pump or low fluid?

  10. Hello and welcome.

It is a nice colour Octavia.

    Good choice.

Goes to show that all the jokes that was made about the Skoda`s in their early days are not true.

As if that was a ford your mother would have been in big trouble.

You will have loads of fun on this forum.

  11. There is a chassis dependant break in this part.

So if the one that ends in an a is not correct try the part number you have but without the a on.

The chassis break is x which if I remember correctly is about 2000.

It must have been left in the car as the previouse owner got it wrong.
