  1. Thanks Lads for the feedback.

Can I just confirm that "Yes" the car is losing coolant' date=' i.e. it most definitely does go beyond the min mark, and that's what causes the light to flash.[/quote']

Have a check on the rad fan switch.

These was prone for leaking too.

May just require a new seal.

  2. There is a common problem with the head gaskets.

They seep oil into the cooling system which eventually blocks the current between the two prongs on the coolant level sensor bringing the light on. You need to replace the head gasket with the modified Temac gasket making sure that liner height is correct when removed and replace the header tank so all oil is removed from the cooling system.

Common to all 1.4 MPI's around 2000-2001 in any country.

    Hi yes there was.

I was told it was down to the front head bolts not being tight enough.

But the technician who did the gasket should have flushed the system and replaced the expansion tank at the same time.

When this come about I used to do 3 warranty claims a week in regards these and it was only a little garage.

If I am correct they did cover this in to another couple of years.

  3. Hi

I have one of the Felicia diesels.

Mine is the same colour I thins.

    Hot chilli red met.

Try Butts of Bawtry in all things Skoda 01302 718224.

But they do not do painted mirrors.

But if you check with your dealer you may just be able to get away with a mirror cap.

Welcome to the forum you have found a place to gets lots of advice and help.

  4. You would need to go to the dealers and get them to look at them.

If there is no sign of stonechip damage you could be in for a chance.

But they then would need to get the area technical manager out to have a look at them.

His is the last person who would give the final desision.

If he says no then it will be logged on the computer and the claim would not go through.

But the first step is to go to your dealer.

If you use anything to clean the wheels you should take that with you too.

    Good luck

    Sarah

  5. If you look at the JBS Auto Designs RR day on the 03/04/05 you will see that the highest Fabia vRS on the rollers only got 184.1 bhp and that was with a custom code 1 remap. Remember the JBS rollers are extremly accurate' date=' and if your claim that a standard vRS has 145 bhp turns out to be true that would mean that a tuning boxed one would have 188.5 bhp, obviously every car is different but you can see what I mean :o.

The max you can realistically expect from a tuning boxed vRS is around 155-160 at a push from the expensive digital ones, i'm also sorry to burst your bubble but most vRS's if not all (please correct me if im wrong), do not put out 145 bhp like most people claim, but the factory 128-132.

    To list but a few:

    Johnny05 Fabia vRS 131.1BHP 231.1ftlb

    Wardy Fabia vRS 129.7BHP 223.3ftlb

Andy vRS Fabia vRS 127.7BHP 226.6ftlb

Why do some people get 145 bhp then? Older rolling roads, aren't as accurate.[/quote']

    Have to agree with that.

If you check on many threads before you will find this out.

We also had one with a box on , he did not even know he had one.

Removed it then put a remap on and he was VERY pleased with it.

  6. There are a few people out there that would prefer to purchase a car with the remap already as it saves them having it done.

The best thing to do is to get a feel for the market.

We do on the odd occasion get calls from people who are looking for a remapped car and with engine mods already done to the car.

  7. Anyone else get a strong smell from the clutch after driving for any length of time?

I had the plate replaced about a month ago' date=' but the smell is still there (if not as strong)

I am not heavy on the clutch and have never worn one out in 15 years of driving.

Maybe it is just residue from the previous clutch which had been overheated by other drivers?[/quote']

Sorry , but it should be more than just the clutch plate that was replaced.

The pressure plate should also be replaced.

You will find that these clutches are hydraulic.

I saw a Fabia with just over 1000 miles on the clock come in with smoke pouring out around the gearbox.

The lovely lady said "I dont ride the clutch"

It is so easy on the hydraulics to do that.

But something to keep in mind.

  8. ...This guy/gal is a like a robot.... 'Blimey that had my head spinning'...with no emotional expression whatsoever

It's great there is a supplier on the site though' date=' It's f***ing cool actually

    Robot..[/quote']

Your ok as the gal goes home and drinks lots of wine to counteract the spinning.

But it is good when we can find out things like this.

    Get a buz.

Same with the clutches we found!

  9. Hi Martin

I have just sat on etca for the past 3/4 of an hour and managed to come up with the impossible.

The gear selector for the Octavia is the same part number for the Fabia.

So I have battled to come up with a reason that it would not fit the Fabia if it fits the Octavia on the genuine part number?

Blimey that had my head spinning.

The same part number also fits the Seat`s Mmm

  10. And if I wanted a set of coilovers popped in at the same time?... No' date=' No I must be sensible. Must calm down.:)

Cheers for the help. Must say I'm definitely considering it now [/quote']

OOHHhhhhhhhhhh now you mention coilovers I know where you can get some lovely bling ones.................

You will be happy with the choice of the Milteck
