Hi Rob
After seeing rolling road plots for the 2 I think you have to check this one out.
But do a search on all options.
If I can help you at all I come on this forum everyday.
You could always call me on 01246 455005

Dont do it!!!
Have you tried a company called S4 near Barnsley?
Dont have their number but they deal with second hand Skoda parts.

Hi Jon
You sound like my dad.
He does not like spending money too.
That is why he has some.
But I must point out to you that Custom-Code Phase 2 is NOT done on the rolling road.
This IS done on the raod.
You cannoy make the rolling road give you the same readings as would be on the road.
You need to take in to account bends and potholes to srart with.
Phase 1 is generic that Hellfire has stated.

James is the one who drives ours.
It has been down Bruntingthorpe and still holds a few records and that was over a year ago.
But we are now looking in to the GT30 Turbo.
I will see if I can get the gent with the GT28RS Turbo conversion to PM you with a few details.
He has been happy with his mods too.

Hi
Yes our Octavia was running 440bhp without the Nitrous then that would have given up to 100bhp on top.
We are at the moment doing some more work on this.
Ours was running the 6 speed box with a Kevlar clutch and a Quaife diff.
The amount of power that you can get from these 1.8T engines is fantastic.
So with the amount the Mk1 shape Octavia have come down in retail value it could be worth keeping hold of it and doing some mods to your older one.
It is a shame as I personally think that they are fantastic cars.

We had 1 guy on the rolling road day had standard readings with a tuning box.
We took it off and it run slightly better.
He had not had the car lomg and did not even know it was there.
There are so many.
But there will always be someone who doubts what ever you have.
There is an old saying "You can only please some of the people some of the time. Not all of the people all of the time"
Each to their own.

Thank you Hellfire!!
I have been telling people that the best way to preserve the clutch is to not accelerate in 6th.
If you get a good remap and use the gears you will not have a problem with the clutch.
Anyway as you have been told by these clever people on here The Eibach spribgs are very good.
The PD160 intakes is quite good.
Get a Green Cotton and a lovely Custom-Code remap and you have pretty much got a lovely car there.
Although they are good to start a little help with them mods and the car will drive better.
Mmm and the remap it is fun you will be grinning like a Cheshire cat for ages.

It is the issue with the fact that there are MANY different versions with the ECU`s.
This means that for say the Fabia vRS engine )ASZ) there are loads of ECU`s with different reads.
This means for that car there are a number of different codes for these.
We do not replace the info on the ECU , but just add.
Then the remap can be returned to standard.
When we do a Custom-Code complete to the car and the modifications that are done we do not do these on the rolling road.
We do all of that on the actual road.
There are things like bends on the road that you cannot take in to account on rolling roads.
So there is plenty of work when we do remaps.
There is also the back up that you get with remaps.
But then there is Heinz beans and Tesco Value.
So the choice is down to the customer.
We will be having our rolling road days soon so then we will be able to show you the difference in tuning.
I also have some rolling road printouts in the reception area with some different remaps on if people want to call in and have a look.
It is all aimed to assist people.
Hope this helps

When you have your car serviced what is the point of carrying out the oil change etc without doing a check on everything there.
I think it is more of a ply by the dealers to get more money off you.
After you have a service the car requires another one 10,000 miles of 12 months after your last service.

I dont really see what the difference is between a decent tuning box (e.g.Dragon digital) and most re-maps apart from the obvious lack of physical product with the re-map.
Most re-maps are generic to the engine as are tuning box's and not tailored to each individual vehicle' date=' neither product affects boost to my knowledge so I dont really see how a re-map can give any more power than a tuning box?
Obviously you can have a re-map done for your particular vehicle and set up on rolling road but the normal type of re-map that most have (one click etc) aren't really any different to a tuning box as far as I can see.
The tuning box is also half the price of most re-maps which I dont understand, they must have the same amount of development time put into them and come with hardware, so really a re-map which gives you no physical hardware should be lots cheaper?[/quote']
We remap cars and I do know that with the same engine code on the same year there could be around a dozen different ECU`s with each ECU there could be about 5 different reads.
This means that in 1 year there could be quite a few varients.
Now with a Custom-Code remap (I dont know about others) these are taken in to account.
Does this happen with tuning boxes?
Is the car given a full diagnostic check before and after this has been fitted?
These are all things to be taken in to account when looking at mods.

Hi Jon
You still like your set up?
Anyway there are a few remaps out there , so it could be woth doing a search on the results that can be found for your car.
But you will not be dissapointed with that car.
The Eibach springs do drop it nicely.
But some like more....

Hi
I would agree there strongly.
Custom-Code will work very well on the 2.0 diesel.http://www.custom-code.co.uk/content/view/1439/239/
We have done a few of these and the torque curve is perfect and smooth.
You would not be dissapointed with this
Oh and by the way if we do a remap on your car and you do not think that it is the smoothest about we will put it back to standard and offer you a full refund.
Can`t say fairer than that.
If I can help anyone just give me a call on 01246 455005 or PM me I am here most days.

Hi
Think you will find it is just the trim
There is a tow eye there somewhere that is screwd in.
But that is usually in the boot.
They do come out but IIRC they are only a couple o quid from the dealers.

The problem is on the rolling roads is the lottery that you get.
Could have done with a before and after rolling road.
Some rolling roads can read over 20bhp out.
If this is so then it would make any mod including the Green Cotton Filter look good.
But I do agree with if you have just spent £11k ish on a car do you really want to put a £30.00 gadget on it and possibly run it way way too rich cause loads of smoke just to get some extra bhp.
If you go the full hog and get a remap you get something better for your money.
As for tuning boxes I have seen a car with one on that lost 1 or 2 bhp no gains losses!although not much it still had losses.
We took it off as the owner never even knew it was there.
We have had MANY rolling road days and have seen quitre alot of tuning examples.
I have a book in my reception with some in.
It is worth a look.
Oh and the Rolling Road is coming on fine and could be 3 to 4 weeks off now.
Thank you for listening me

You could just be in it.
Could be worth getting them checked.

Yes the 1.8T had major issues with the coils and are now covered in to a 5th year of warranty.
If the coils are of a different part number then that is not covered.
It is just a coupe of specified part numbers off the 1.8T engine that are covered.
If you are looking at replacing some coils out of warranty on a 3 cylinder the coils will not be that number.
But check with Customer Care if it is low mileage and only just out of warranty you may get some help off them.
Good luck

Hi Yogi
Yes there are many members on here that drive the Fabia vRS
You will love the car after you have test drove it.
These are sweet little nippy things.
I love the yellow ones , but silver is a good colour too.
Then you will of course need a remap as this helps so much with the drivability and makes the car even more fun to drive.
Have fun

Hi
Master cylinder is the one that goes faulty.
Check with Customer Care as this is a common fault they may have crried it on until a 4th year of warranty
Worth a check.

I did warranty for 5 years and I have seen some REAL mods.
Now if you go modding the engine like mad and a door lock goes , then that will not be invalidated.
If you put lowering springs on , then you will invalidate the warranty on things like the whole suspension.
But alot of the times if you can prove that it has not faultered because of the springs then there will not be a problem.
If the shockers go because you have lowering springs on then that will be down to yourself.
But I dont think there are many issues with the suspension warranty wise.
But the benifit from lowering the car is great.
So it is up to you.

That is the problem with posting up something like this.
1 will say I have this remap and it is good.
Well I have that remap and mine is better.
The best thing to do is to do a search and see what you can get.
Look in to all as there may be one that will suit you better.
Yes I will tell you that Custom-Code is better as we are an agent for them.
www.custom-code is the web site.
But by the looks you have already included them.
Check out what you can get and if I can help just PM me or call me on 01246 455004
Thank you
Have fun in your search

Hi
Our Rolling Road should be up and running in about 3 weeks
So if you can wait until this is up and running we would love to have an open day with the extra BBQ with it.
Would this help?
