  1. Have to agree there, there is definately clutch slippage when in Drive. One interesting point though, why doesn't it do the same in reverse? I hate doing reverse hill starts with the DSG. Actually take my foot off the break, then release the handbrake whilst depressing the accelerator. Seems the only way to stop the car rolling forwards down the slope. have no idea if this this the right ways to do it though?
  2. Just a quick note BTW, don't simply accept the quoted cost of the service. My wife was quoted
  3. I've got the oposite problem. I asked for fixed but suspect that I'm on variable as I've now done more than 10,000 with no service light. Worried that it's going to cost a lot more relative to the total miles when serviced as I can't see geting into 15-20K mark with my type of commute. Annoying as the sales person even recommended that I go for fixed.
  4. I had the same problem a couple of weeks back. Couldn't get the damn thing to eject for love nor money. Left it in there for a couple of days, tried again and it popped straight out. hasn't happened since.
  5. When you get it, check that it fits over the floor eyelets nearest the boot lid. I've got a hatch and ordered the boot liner only to find it didn't accomodate four eyelets, only two. Skoda told me the part was correct but that the Elegance has an extra set of eyelets that the manufacturer wasn't aware of. Took me five months to get a new mat as the supplier had to create a new part specifically for the elegance.
  6. Also does it if you hold the sqirt button down for more than five seconds. That'll really tick the driver behind off
  7. I test drove the sports suspension and found it noisy. Bought the standard setup and found the handling not much different, but with a smother and less noisy ride. Alloys arn't as nice but they're ok and easy to clean. The dealer was skeptical as to whether the sports pack actually improved the handling that much for the money.
  8. When I bought my Octy 2.0 DSG, I kept asking how much the clutch plate/service of the DSG would cost. They never did manage to find out but said the unit would be sent away for any work to s specialist facility.
  9. I've not seen any mention of the new vRS getting the DSG with flappy paddles like the Golf GTi option. Anyone got any info?
  10. This is the semi-ridgid one with a deep lip,not the soft rubber one. It's more like stiff plastic than rubber. I picked mine up in May so i'm guessing you've got the other liner (I had that type in the old octy, but the deep one is better at containing spills).
  11. OK, a boot liner. The part is Skoda branded and according to Skoda, the 'original' version would not fit the Elegance model. When did you get yours? I'm curious how you have one that accomodates all the rings if the manufacturer have only just got production going with the new batch, enless I've been treated like a mushroom
  12. My wife has already contacted them. Just sniffing around here to see if there's a known problem.
