  1. changed my montecarlo order yesterday from petrol to tdi105,and lost my build week 20, and got week 32,however the dealer phoned today and said that he had found me one in near the same spec thats gettin built nextweek, theonly change of spec is that i have to have silver seats instead of red, small price to pay
  2. changed my order this weekend, from a tdi montecarlo to a 105 tsi, with same options, and was given build week 28,which should see it delivered early august, but dealer said that it may need to be registered in august, will the car have the new badge on it?
  3. whilst i was at my dealer today, changing my montecarlo order from the tdi to the tsi105,because the 1.6 tdi i currently have does not live up to expectations in both economy or performance, the dealer said that the vat free was extended for a month
  4. got the car back yesterday, did 103miles today over various roads and traffic, after filling up untill the pump clicked twice, the maxidot showed about 47 average, then i refilled in the same manner,it took 8.3 litres to do 103 miles, which at 4.5 liters to a gallon, meant id used 1.8gallons, which equates to 57 mpg, this shows the maxidot to be inacurrate, but also there seems to be some improvements in whats been done,in either the upgrade or freeing off the throttle, going on a decent motorway run tomorrow, then il try again,im happier now with it,and the monte should be better as the scout is more slabsided and not as low as the montecarlo
  5. just wandering what you get when you order bluetooth on a fabia montecarlo, do you get a different steeringwheel with radio controls,or does it just work off the maxidot and radio, thanks
  6. no it doesnt, that is a well written knowlegable reply,i should get my scout back tomorrow,it also may need a new trottle pedal,as its does not always respond to movement and is stiffer than other fabias iv tried,il post up any resultswhen iv tried it for a couple of days, thanks
  7. thank for your comments very useful,i have tried different driving styles, the reason i cited lack of power in the 1000-1500rangeis that my fiancee has the same engine in her hatch and that pulls with ease in these range, with good economy as did the new demo estate that i tried,so the problem is in the car not me hopefully, its getting asoftware update tomorrow that skoda have issued for this sluggishness hopefully it will be better, and when my montecarlo comes there will have been revisions in the ecu, although iv issues with this car,i have owned seat/skoda diesels for the last 10years which were fitted with every type of diesel engines of their time,so as an experienced diesel driver,i see no reason to change for a petrol, when all points to a fault with the scout
  8. went to the dealers today to find out if they had some info yet on why my scout is lacking power pulling in the 1000-1500 rpm range and also giving abysmal economy, avarages no more than 42 mpg with over 10000 miles on the clock, and was told that a bulletin had come through but they had not read it yet, so i was wandering if anyone knew anything about it or had their car updated and if so was it better worse or no different thanks
  9. hi just seen two monte carlos at my local dealer, they look a lot nicer in the metal than the publicity shots, the ones i saw was a silver one and a red one,iv now decided to alter my order for my monte, going to have it in silver instead of white, the red seats look better than the publicity shots
  10. my fiance and i have both ordered monte carlos, and we have both opted for the maxidot and spare wheel along with climate control, with criuse as well on mine, the maxidot is worth the money as not only does it give consumption and distance travelled etc, it also gives you a nicer looking dash, as it has fuel and temp gauges in the dash rather than a silly blue light for temp and a series of lcd dashes for the fuel.
  11. i too tok out a vrs on a couple of occasions, and was dissapointed with the overall drive of the car, having owned the mk1 vrs fab, and mk2 octy vrs, iv decided on the best compromise, which is the montecarlo, its a package more in tune with the original ethos of the mk1 vrs,and looks better with a no cost black roof and a diesel engine
  12. hi all/ just wandering if there are any photos about of awhite vrs hatch and estate, either on this forum or official skoda sites, not quite made my mind up yet between race blu or white, thanks
  13. hi all, i cant quite make my mind up between a vrs or a montecarlo 1.2 tsi105,the vrs would be white withblackroof, and the monte silver with black roof, have many gone for the monte, cannot get brochures at mo,skoda uk seems to be holding them back till vat free has finished.
  14. hi all/ just wanting info/thoughts on this engine, real world fuel consumption, not skoda fantasy world,as i am considering this engine in my next fabia, the 1.6 tdi 105 i have at present does not really excell in the economy stakes, also the porformance not as lively as i would have hoped.the best average economy, full tank to empty to full tank is about 50 mpg, in all driving styles, the car has done 10000 miles, really just wanting to know how they both stack up,especially the 1.2tsi being cheaper, which would off set some running costs, thanks, regards
  15. has anyone else noticed that the revs on the 1.6 cr engine often stays at 1000 rpm when the car comes to a stop, sometimes with the revs dropping to the normal 800, and sometimes staying at 1000, this happens at various running conditions, so ive found it difficult to pinpoint a reason for this, the scout has just over 6000 miles, and it averages about 55mpg at mway speed, hope anyone can help, it may be a trait of the engine, as the dealer might say thanks, regards
  16. its still at dealers, theyve had it conected to the factory so they can set it up, apparently they are scratching their heads with its problems, at least skoda uk have given me 2 years free servicing should i ever get my scout back
  17. no still at dealers theyve tried a new ecu an that gave allsorts of probs, theyve been in contact with skoda, told to do this nthat, so the next step is a scout coming in tomorrow which they going to take bits off to sort mine out, still not decided what to do with it, at the moment am letting them try bits swapping then see what happens, hope ur avin more luck. regards
  18. went back today still no change with my scout, apparently there is some sort of system to link up with the factory that is the problem, so i asked the dealer if this was a skoda uk problem an not the dealerships, they said yes as there is a few cars waiting on this link, so i contacted skoda uk customer service, and told them this and said as this was the second attempt to fix the fault, if my car is not sorted by friday that i shall be rejecting it under the sale and supply of goods act,and drew their attention to section 6 of the 2003 ammendment that it is now put the onus is on the dealer /maker to prove that the fault was not present at time of delivery, i am waiting for their response tommorow
  19. the scout has now been at dealers for 13 days of the 30 days that it has been on the road, they have now fitted a new ecu as there was something not right with the opening set up, as the scout was supposed to have a facility where the key fob opened the windows, so they were waiting to get linked up with the factory so that they could programme it, hope this works as i am getting to the end of my patience with this car and skoda,as this car replaced my troublesome yeti, if i reject the car i think i will be looking at an audi a1, as they do the vrs set up with a manual box, but hopefully il get itback today, then il chase some compo off them. regards shyfly
  20. an intermittent fault has raised its head with the scout, without warning the central locking will not work, it will lock with the key, but sets the alarm off, and on unlocking with the key leaves the rest of the doors locked. its going in on thursday, and as skoda are at the last chancesaloon with me after the troublesome yeti, if its not a simple fix i will be rejecting the car, hope i wont need to, as iam more than happy with the performance of the 1.6 tdi. regards shyfly
  21. ive just got a scout with the 105 engine, and feels tight but still smooth, it aveages about 45 around town, 57 on motorway,my fiancee has an elegance with athe same engine with 3000plus and that is a lot livier and does over 60 on mway, for the extra ipersonally wouldnt bother with the 75, hope this helps
  22. having just got a scout this week iam very pleased with the performance and economy of the 1,6 105, i chose climate control, maxidot , sparewheel, storageboxes and raised boot floor, iam very pleased with that package, it has sunset glass as std, and looks stuning in white, which is a free colour which i thought was better to spend on other options instead
  23. i ve just bought got one this week after three months on order ,i were the same did not know what colur to get, initially ordered one in red then changed it to white, which iam glad i did `cos it looks stunning in white, i olso ordered it with maxidot as the dash looks better let alone the benefits of maxidot and also took climate and storageboxes, 1.6 tdi 105, and so far gives around 57mpg hopes this helps regards, shyfly
  24. hi all, called in at dealers this morning to ask when my car will be delivered and as he said this afternoon, the transporter pulled up out side with my car on the top,so i was able to see it being taken off and i was able to unwrap the plastic protection so that he and i could inspect it, happily all is well with it,and all specified extras present, just needs sill protectors and a boot liner, that the dealer is going to give me, apperently it is not possible to fit mudflaps to scout, but if anyone knows different,i would appreciate it,so with skoda free 7 day ins sorted i can pick it pm monday pm, its in candy white and looks good as i had not seen one in white before i ordered it in june, the service ihave received from everyone at davidian in morcambe hasbeen excellent and i would recomend them to anyone. regards shyfly
