Many thanks
Many thanks mate for the donation James
I'll add your name to the list......This will appear later
Thanks too Carl, for posting this after our chat last night
No problem Chris, it would be nice to get feedback from users who have used optishine to give the guys an idea of what it's like.
And I'll leave it all in your capable hands Chris. I will bring you some of the QD to test too as I'd say your one of the most respected detailers on the forum, so would be good to hear what you think.
If you would like me too amend anything in my post just let me know.

I think probably made in a sweat house somewhere on the super cheap slave labour chain lol.
I do like to try waxes though cheap or expensive I think you can get a real surprise on some cheap waxes that can turn out to be absolute crackers.
Besides whenever I don't like something these days or don't use them much I tend to pass them on. No point keeping things cluttering up the shelves.

Ok so after having a chat with Chris we've had an idea to set up a raffle to all those who have donated to the cause, and those that still want to donate will be included in the raffle.
Raffle will be drawn when Chris decides the charity event is over (end of November I believe)
Anyway there will be 3 prizes up for grabs from an up coming car care company called optishine (unfortunately the website is still under construction) they are a 2 man team at the moment developing car care products , I believe Steve who is in charge (my wife's uncle) has a number of products in the pipeline but these are going through vigorous testing at the moment.
They have released one liquid wax called optishine carnauba PTFE superblend (more details a bit further down) they also have just released a new detailing spray called Optigloss luxury Detailer, I am currently testing this product myself and I'm very impressed with it so far.
Optishine wax has been tested by a few members of the forum which Steve was kind enough to give them a full retail bottle to try out , so I hope they will post their thoughts on this, good or bad is like it to be an honest review.
So back to the Raffle 3 prizes as I said
1st place will get a full 500ml bottle of Optishine wax & a full 250ml of Optigloss luxury Detailer in a stainless steel spray bottle (nice touch)
2nd place will be a full 500ml bottle of Optishine wax
3rd place a 100ml sample bottle of Optishine wax and a 100ml sample mist bottle of Optigloss
The optishine wax were given to me to try to sell a while back and these are what I have left , so I thought rather than sitting on my shelf in the garage I would arrange with Chris to give them out to you kind hearted folks!
As for the Optigloss it's not officially released at the moment, I will be handing some samples of this out to a selected few for feedback and then I'm sure Steve will do what he did before and offer it to Briskoda members at a heavily discounted rate.
With the raffle items I will be giving to Chris I will also fund postage on these items, so don't worry about having to pay postage charges.
Here is some info on the items up for grabs.
Optishine carnauba PTFE superblend contains the highest grade carnauba wax available, it is very easy and quick to use and spreads thinly meaning it goes far too.
DIRECTIONS
BY HAND: Use a soft sponge applicator to apply a thin even layer panel by panel , allow to haze then buff using a good quality microfibre cloth.
BY MACHINE: apply plenty of wax to a soft finishing pad and work into pad on a slow speed, when complete buff with a good quality microfibre cloth.
Carnauba & PTFE Blend
Provides 6-8 weeks drability
Easy to apply and remove
Can be used in direct sunlight
Non-Dusting
High gloss finish
Can be applied by hand or machine DA
Optigloss luxury Detailer is a highly versatile product that can be used as a spray wax, waterless wash, show detailer and a clay bar lubricant and can be diluted to suit your needs. It has been designed to go hand in hand with our Optishine Carnauba PTFE superblend wax, providing extra protection in between washes optigloss will add a lovely carnauba gloss to any existing wax or sealant being used. If used every other week it will keep your car looking as good as it was first waxed and will not only protect painted surface but also keep down the need to wash.
It excels as a spray wax, waterless wash, Quick Detailer and clay lubricant. Optigloss is safe to be used in direct sunlight and on all surfaces including plastic and chrome.
Be prepared to see a gloss coat like no other!
Dilute optigloss luxury Detailer with water as follows;
Neat as a spray wax
2:1 waterless wash
3:1 – 5:1 as a quick detailer
5:1 – 10:1 as a clay lubricant
Directions
Apply optigloss sparingly as a mist from a trigger spray around 1 spray per panel is usually sufficient when using as a spray wax or quick detailer and quickly buff away residue to leave a fantastic shine. When optigloss is being used as a clay lubricant apply liberally to the area to be clayed, the same applies when using as a waterless wash, however the residue should be buffed away when the car is clean.
A big thank you from Chris and myself for all those who have donated already, please for those of you that haven't already why not book yourself in for a winter protection with Chris and you too will be added to the raffle, or just make a small donation it doesn't matter how small, and you will also be added to the raffle list.
Now as this thread and full charity event is thanks to Chris he knows all of you who have made donations in one way or another already, so he may ask for your user names to get a list of people in the running for the raffle.
So I along with you will look for Chris's reply.
Thank you for letting me invade the thread Chris, over to you.
Carl.

so, quick meet up with Chris today for a follow up from his polish of my car a few months back. Another pass over the vertical panels of the car to remove the last of the swirling which could only be seen under a very harsh light. A little more machining tuition from Chris to consolidate the AB info then i set off with sonax 0406 on the das6 pro with orange pad, Chris working at the same time (but somewhat faster) with the DAS21. I'd given the side panels a quick hand polish earlier, so quick hit of tardis and eraser and sealant was applied.
The spray of the liquid abyss was applied to the majority of the car, except the bonnet and front wings which have become a test platform for the equally epically named "Dr Beasleys Plasma Coat". (Hellshine Abyss and Plasma Coat, you can tell this stuff is aimed squarely at blokes)
I imagine Chris will be a little more descriptive but the plasma coat and abyss spray both went on and off easily enough in very murky conditions and spread a log way.
pics to prove it happened.....
Looks cracking!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the plasma coat a little further down the line, but I'm sure your gonna love the abyss. Reflection levels on your car look amazing Simon.
Good job both of you!

I even tried machine washing one of the red eBay ones and it came out black and had lost that quality feel they have to them as new.Haha amazing.
I did put it in the washer with dirty MFs though.

No problem I hope to get details of new optishine samples in a new thread tomorrow all being well.No worries at all bud, you certainly didn't miss much by not meeting me, I'm not that entertaining.
The detail in the fog went ok I think, the products chosen didnt seem to mind the damp, I'll upload some pics if they come out ok as is was a bit gloomy.
Would be delighted to test out the samples, will pm you my address. Let me know what I owe you in due course.
Watch this space...

1000% this, one of my favourite products.
Just be careful it eats applicators if left on then overnight or longer.
Excellent rain repellant.
Haven't noticed mark. I still keep throwing them after one use, I'm doing a terrible job at keeping apps clean lol

While we are all here saving a fortune and getting giddy over some new products.
Spare a thought for those in troubles.......
I've just read up on ChrisRS's charity month and decided I'm giving 10% to the cause of whatever I spend.
Even then I'll still be saving money!
http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/329156-manorlands-hospice-charity-month-november-2014/
Can YOU do the same?
No pressure, just an idea. Chris does not have to even clean your car!
Very well said, and very good of you too.
I hope others find it in their hearts to do the same, I can tell you personally this charity is amazing and have helped me through a rough patch, even if you don't live local Sue ryder is a great charity all round.
And the fact the Chris is doing this at his own time and expense really shows the measure of a man imo, he's taking NO financial gain and putting his own time and hard work into detailing others cars for a simple small donation.
Be proud of yourselves guys, I see the lives of people affected by this every week, it's means a lot to those families and it's becoming more and more common (I hope not) but it could affect anyone on here any day, you just never know.
Sorry rant over, but I'm personally proud of all that's helped the cause.

Anyone used the rain repelant before and is it any good? Already bought stuff but thinking of buying a few more but need it to be worth while for the postage cost.
Also the tyre shine, is it better than Autoglyms tyre dressing as that's all i have used?
I have hellshine ghost rider which I believe is pretty much the same product as repel. I can't comment on repel but if it's even half as good as ghost rider its worth the small price tag.

Its very interesting stuff...never worked with anything like it before
I hope to review it soon Carl...when I Prepare a new Octavia soon, for a client
Only two weeks left to make your donation or get your washed and waxed for this very worthwhile cause
Without these donations, Manorlands would not be able to make such a difference to lives and families in the West Yorkshire area
You should be proud of what you've done Chris!
Anything helps, like has been said a donation is optional of course, I appreciate you haven't had anywhere near the amount you had hoped for, but it doesn't matter Chris, you can sleep easy knowing you have done a good thing!
Same goes for all you who have donated.
I take my hat off to you guys, well done!

Will be nice to put another face to a name, I look forward to meeting you.
Sorry I didn't get to meet you today, hope you and Chris had a good en. If you give me your address I will send you some samples through the post, another promising product from the optishine range this been designed to work directly with the optishine carnauba ptfe superblend.
I will have more info on this probably tomorrow as I've only found out today when my I laws dropped me off loads of the stuff. Even though I said optishine didn't get much feedback he's eager to hand out samples.

I've just used spray abyss on the shower and bath and I have to say it's amazing, I love finding new uses for car care products.
The water behaviour in the basins bath and shower is just unreal, it's like watching liquid worms trying to escape.
It's not too slippy either, the one thing I would suggest you don't do that I did lol is get it anywhere near the bath sealant (yes it turned red) and I usuall think these things through.
Anyway it's worth a try if you fancy a go at it. I've used sonax BSD to do this before also and that worked great too, just hoping for more durability from abyss.
-
tbats very kind of you Dinski, but I have some on order and also just bought a MF pad from asda to use with the carlack cleaner.
Just started to hoover out the inside and the heavens opened! so looks like i will have to leave the outside now until sometime in the week:(
Cheers
No problem, I know a few people who applied abyss on a microfibre pad and preferred that, so you could give it a try.
-
The red foam applicators available on eBay are perfect for this wax. And are really good quality.
I can post you one on if you like?
-
Wow glad I got to read what they said about it first, really not selling it!
-
Sealants are the way ahead I believe, so easy to use and...... I think, more versatile..trim etc...
Just seen this Chris, yeah I agree they are slowly taking over my wax collection.

Will be nice to put another face to a name, I look forward to meeting you.
Likewise, just hope the weather stays dry now.
