  1. The buffing off certainly was a PITA!

While I totally agree about cure time on hellshine abyss I've used it like a QD on the bonnet before spray on and wipe off and still found it protected really well, nothing like a good cured 10 mins in fine weather , but still better than a top up of an actual qd.

  2. I agree, Dinski.

Perhaps it's because certain colours are chosen to heavily promote the Yeti (and no doubt other manufacturers do the same) that other colours are far rarer.

Initially with the Yeti, every photo was pretty much Aqua Blue. FL Yetis were heavily promoted in Jungle Green.....

On top of that the brochure and websites do nothing to show a true likeness to most of the colours so many customers play safe. Even TIBET I's white was a rarely seen colour when ordered - or even when it arrived.

Hopefully, this thread provides an inkling to prospective Yeti owners what the colours actually look like.

Incidentally, I chose the non-sunshine pics to demonstrate the different stages of TIBET III 'development. Moved 50m into the sun from where the last picture was taken and it looked like this (apologies for rubbish phone pic!):

And in the dark and wet, it looks like this:

Agreed here is one of mine in the failing light , it usually looks black after a certain time of day.

You are totally right about how much they only push certain colours, I ordered mine purely on the fact it was only available on the L&k so thought it would be a little more rare than others, I was pleased with my choice in the end but it looked nothing like the tiny little picture in the brochure.

  3. With the amount of Hellshine Abyess on Dinski,s Yeti there is no way snow would ever stick to his bonnet. It would land on it and retreat to the floor.

    Tony

Lol thanks Tony, it actually needs doing again, well at least a good wash anyway, just haven't been up to doing it at the mo.

It's actually really dirty at the moment I'm ashamed to say.

  4. To keep the 'spot the difference' game going with TIBET III in case anyone wants to see Tibetan (Terracotta) Bronze with different coloured 'accessories':

Matterhorns + Nokians = winters wear

As with other colours, you have to see the bronze in different lights to appreciate it:

Glad your still loving your colour choice aerofurb

  5. You can't tell from the photo if you are driving or stopped.

What I was meaning was your quote about a decent head behind the wheel. The first thing you should do is clear ALL snow off your vehicle before setting off, so it doesn't slide off the roof over the windscreen, or blow off the bonnet onto the screen, giving zero visibility.

I'm not knocking your driving ability, but a decent head should know these things.

I did clear the roof, the bonnet was not necessary.

  6. I managed to give mine a whirl yesterday and thought I'd post the results. As you can see, the shine was pretty good although the car often does look good after a decent wash. We also had a bit of rain and I managed a couple of photos of that too.

It smells lovely and a couple of people did comment on how shiny the car looked. It's not quite as able to create beading as the Meguiars 135 spray I've used for a while but perhaps it isn't meant to? Having said that it produced a nice shine and I'm happy with how the car looks.

Wow! Looks really glossy, can Steve the creator of the QD use your photos on his website? Reg and personal details will of course not be used.

  7. Fresh coat of Home Made Hybrid Mk3 applied to my car

    ...more of a concoction tbh:

Bilt Hamer Autobalm Paste Sealant (10ml) + container

    Collinite 915 (25ml)

    Meg's gold class (30ml)

    Poor boys wheel sealant (25ml)

    Hybrid 86 (15ml)

Dash of Wolfs Body Wrap Sealant..all I had left

    Lovely slick feel

Can confirm it looked bloody good too! Nice work Chris.

  8. Why have you got all that snow on your bonnet? It looks like it's reducing your visibility.

No it didn't reduce any visibility I'm 6ft 2 and I position my seat quite high, tbh I didn't even notice that's how much it reduced visibility.

I thought you would have been more having a go about the fact I was taking photos while driving lol

  9. For the first time in 2 years I found out how good my Yeti is on winters in the snow. On Boxing Day evening I drove 15 miles home from Derbyshire to North Notts. it performed perfectly. Just drove steadily and smoothly checking every junction for drivers not driving appropriately. I had to negotiate several abounded vehicles and a number of trees and branches brought down with the weight of snow.

Quality car in the snow with a decent head behind the wheel.

  10. Beading is a good sign of the water repellant properties of your LSP

    BUT

It should be remembered that nearlly all LSP products will bead well after an initial application

The TRUE measure of a product is how it beads after a week or so..or after a first wash

Amy's car still beading well weeks after you applied the abyss Chris. We thank you.

  11. Used mine at the weekend and liked it. Left a good finish but I'm unable to say how well it topped up the protection on my paint as it's been really windy around here so car is back to being covered in a bit of a film.

Anyway pic attached. Car probably had a layer of Werkstatt about 6 weeks ago and was just washed and then this used when drying.

Looks very glossy David. Hope u liked it.

    Glad yours arrived darrell
