Fab VRS 20k Brake Fluid change?

Hi all,

not sure if we have many techs left but I was wondering if the brake fluid should be changed at 20k on a fabia VRS or should it be 2 years? I do about 2000 miles every four weeks and I have just hit 20k so have been phoning arround for service quotes I have been given:

I think it is only possible to upgrade to Super dot 4, and not 5.1 because of it being totally synthetic and not backwards compatible.

Had my octy rs done by the dealer a couple of months ago (at two years) and pedal was noticeably better. I was charged

I seriously doubt it, I have dot 5.1 in mine works well

I've heard of Silkolene Prorace 2000 Super DOT 4 brake and clutch fluid but I'm sure the likes of Castrol do one as well....not really looked into it yet.

Couldnt tell you tbh, I had the fluid changed along with all the pads and all the disks to larger versions

I think its best to go with super dot 4 though, doesnt need replacing as often

They are compatable, DOT 5 and DOT 4 arent as DOT 5 is silicone based iirc.

Change every 2 years - spec used to be 2yrs OR 20,000 miles,but as peoples mileage have increased is more sensible to put a time limit,rather than miles.
