Cupra Console Bushes Fitted

Recommended Posts

just had my new cupra console bushes fitted today. i know that people rave about the powerflex and superpro ones but the cupra ones suit me just fine.

bushes cost 22 quid from seat and then the car had the work done plus laser tracking for a reasonable £129.

i had a problem of the steering juddering intermittently at motorway speed, and i can now say that it has completely stopped with these new bushes - big smiles all round.

feedback so far - car feels a little 'tighter' to drive but you do also get more feedback from the road.

excellent upgrade if you are thinkin about it....

ps the mechanic cursed me when i went to collect because what started out to be a 2 hour job turned into a 4 hour job because getting things back into place with the new stiffer bushes was a nightmare... :giggle:

i still paid the price quoted to me though, so cant say fairer than that!

Had mine done this week and I wish I had an estimate like yours. My man said 1 1/2 hrs per side and after watching him for a while I would believe it as they are an absolute pig to get back in.

well if anybody wants the garage details that i got them done at, just ask! its in Leeds..

i went to shark performance yesterday too to check up on the map that got done there. got a tiny boost leak but nothing to worry too much about. also had the 4 door opening sorted instead of just drivers door. it was driving me mad! also got the chirp done on the alarm and also the anti hijack feature...

Interested in this job, could i have the garage details please?

Local to leeds so would be ideal, thinking of doing a rarb too? Thoughts?

Anything else that should be replaced at same time to gain most improvement?

Cheers

Had mine done yesterday on a PD100. Had exactly the same problems, wheel vibrating badly at motorway speeds. I got them fitted for a steal from a local truly independent guy who specialises in VAG. He said 2 hour job, ended up taking him twice as long so they must be a bit of a bugger to fit. Apparently standard/powerflex etc aren't anywhere near as difficult as these solid rubber versions.

Big thing I noticed though is the increase in road noise at low revs/speeds that seems to be transmitted up through the centre console. i'd read about this previously but I can live with it!
