Priority mods for standard Fabia vrs mk1

I was wondering what everyones priority mod would be for a standard fabia vrs mk1?

Has to be a Re-map for me, makes a huge difference to the performance of a vrs

If you do only one thing then it should be a stage 1 re-map IMO

OK, not a vRS here but take it from someone who took his car (MkI Fabia ~125hp) on track only yesterday; HANDLING,,,, MODS,,,, FIRST!

Depends on your planned use for the car. If you just use it as a daily munching miles on the motorway a remap to gain some torque would be top for me. Obviously if you use it for other things do something else. Where do YOU feel its lacking?

As Lee says handling mods first. It will make the car feel much better. Out of the box that is the one area it needs working on

I don't feel its lacking at the moment this would be for the future really! I was thinking of remapping it in the next few weeks though just hunting around for ideas!

Whiteline RARB and Eibach pro springs, then I still wanted it lower so went with coilovers.

if your not planning on doing track days i dont see the point of upgrading your brakes.... the standard brake set-up is good enough to stop you at any of the uk's legal speed limit's imo

coilovers. my first fabia i put springs on and regretted it ever since. was never ever low enough :(

i went for coilovers,strutts,brakes and anti roll bar first get all the handling done then visual (alloys,lights etc) and now starting with the power side of things ie remap,exhaust, inlet,intercooler,clutch then turbo upgrade but as matt said it all deppends what your plans are for the car.

Probably minimal increase as you are not increasing power if just doing brakes and ARB. However you will still nead to inform your insurance company and declare any mods.

A good service (cam belt etc), have a garage (or yourself) check the console bushes and if required replace them with solid units (Powerflex are the easiest to install for a home install). Clean the EGR valve and sort out any common issues it has (leaking rear windows, Coolant sensor issue etc etc).

 

Once you know the car is in good running order then you can "hence" certain things. Personally I'd suggest a rear anti-roll bar from Jabba sport but the whiteline is just as good (so I've read on here - I have the Jabba). Then add 312mm brakes. pointless increasing the power when the brakes than come with the vrs as poor!

I picked mine up earlier this week and I am getting mine mapped at the end of the month then leaving it as is other than a couple of subtle exterior mods ( paint wheels, cupra splitter etc)

That would be my advice too.

Brakes, then Rear ARB, then a quality remap from a known company on this forum.
