Amusing. Maybe they now provide that Polo to people when their cars are out of action? ;)

Here my tale of JBS

Had the car de-dpf and remapped by JLS autodesigns in Chesterfield. Car Passed MOT emissions fine. Week later the DPF emissions light has just popped on the car? Confused as to way this would happen! Any advice would be appreciated. Car needs a service as the spanner just popped on also! Is this a coincidence?

Well a small update on the car situation the glow light is flashing now so indicates a engine an engine management light. EGR is sticking and valve is caked in sooty stuff so needs replacement! Spoken to JBS about the dpf light 9/10 times its is a pressure sensor so hopefully would cure the problems so far.

Also in the same conversation the updated remap is for the throttle sensitivity and should produce the same bhp? Not too sure but will get them to look at the car when the car is in to JBS and report back. If the car is still stuttering I can safely rule out the EGR and pressure sensor!

Well another update! Spoken to the local Vw indy mechanic! EGR fixed first fault flashing coil light. Pressure switch/sensor replaced. Still DPF light on? . The indy mechanic wanted to reset the DPF light by going through through the process? Had not time to do that so will try on Monday... Bit scared about that!

There is another thing the Mechanic said that it could be a mapping error, Spoken to JBS about the issues. I live in Nottinghamshire and entertaining the fact that to drive to Chesterfield with the DPF light on was one of the options by them with I have discounted.

In my opinion is a laptop with software that one of their techies can come in and update the firmware in Newark! its only a drive for them with the cost of fuel.

I am against hiring a trailer to get the car over there to JBS and if the issues cannot be resolved that day having to come back to them again another expense!

JBS are going to contact the vw indy!. I did say that there are people in the car forums that are reading. I would be interested in the conversation from James and vw indy garage!

3 Day without car not happy so far!

JBS will be contacting me tomorrow after talking to the VW indy!

Any ideas anyone?

.....get your money back and go to Shark..... Ben is in Mansfield, cant believe you went all the way to JBS when you would have had to pretty much drive past his front door :rofl: especially with the reputation he has on Brisky!! :thumbup::rofl:

I dont think Ben had a Map at the point when JBS had the solution last year!

Spoken to James at JBS, It is the one person I can have had a decent conversation with! Will be taking the car to them as they will update the map on the car! Clearly this remapping is a little more complex it seems from just seening what the fault codes are and monitoring the sensors etc.... James certainly knows his stuff and made it clear that he leaves all the sensors active to ensure that there are fail safes in the car if sensors are broken etc..

James is 100% confident that the car will drive with the DPF light on back to them to have a look at it as he says its just throwing up a light because of one of the pressure sensors not reading correctly i.e if one of them was broken! Will let you know how I get on!

Good luck

After travelling over 24,000 miles with JBS DPF delete and Re-map without the car missing a beat the car had a problem and I took it to the nearest place to me a VAG independent garage. The garage had the diagnostic equipment and diagnose the problem as a pressure sensor failure. After installation the garage could not turn off the warning lights! After several phone calls between JBS and the VAG specialist, it was made clear that the VAG garage certainly did not have the expertise and technical know how as JBS.

I asked the VAG garage to install the old part and took the car to you!

After a long journey in Limp mode! I made it. Kev was the technician looking after the car. He plugged the laptop in and then checked the fault codes. Immediately he identified the car having a pressure sensor failure and this was his gut feeling. He put the car back to standard and checked the fault codes again and explained the technical issues with great efficiently i.e I understood what Kev was on about. He said that he was going to forced the car to do a controlled forced re-gen and took the car out to make sure that it was the sensor and that the figures will decrease. He took the car out and sure enough the figure on the sensor decreased but now was reading a steady amount but was not reading correctly.

Another problem was that the bonnet realise somehow had got stuck and we could not get the bonnet open. Kev started managed to release the bonnet and noticed that the cable had loosened itself from the extension joint the cover from the joint it seems had been pulled open? Kev then fixed the issue and with a cable tie ensured that this cover cannot easily be pulled open and to try to stop this from happening again.

Kev did say that the pressure sensor was an old style one and the one he had in stock was of a newer type! Pressure sensor done, Bonnet fixed and Kev checked the figures with the new sensor and sure enough they were low enough for no warning lights.

A new updated map was mapped free of charge and another test drive from Kev and I was on my way again. The best thing about this is that even if the VAG garage had tried to regenerate when the JBS map is on the car they could not and therefore JBS had built in a fail safe to ensure that the car can never regenerate which cause some serious issues!.

Kev did explain that the newer map had the same power output but the throttle response has changed slightly. The newer map on the car is brilliant and smooth and throttle response is progressive which is a lot different to the WILD map I had. What a bonus!

Good to hear you got it sorted, JBS have had some bad press in the recent past so good to hear that they have sorted it quickly and efficiently, I've had one of their petrol maps in the past and it was brilliant and James and Kev certainly know their stuff. :thumbup:

Ditto for James and Kev!

The map is certainly smoother than before and I have not got the car to stutter! Pleased with the outcome and thanks to all for the information and advice!
