Stage 2 :: Parts Required? (Full List)

Recommended Posts

Now I'm in a much better job (with some actual cash to spend) I'm currently planning the jump from standard to Stage 2. I've wanted to go to Stage 2 for a while, but held off until I can get all the right parts and do it properly... so at the moment I'm trying to figure out all the parts I require before going ahead. This is the list I have so far:

- Viper induction kit with CAI feed (here)
- Forge silicon Turbo Intake Pipe (here)
- Forge FMIC kit (here)
- Upgraded fuel injectors (here)
- Full Piper exhaust system: downpipe, sports cat and cat-back [all 2.5"] (here)

Are those parts correct? Anything else needed?

Thanks guys B)

Personally I wouldn't go Forge a decent wellycooler will do the trick for less than half the price. This would make it that bit cheaper to go stage 2. Give Clive a PM, MissingmyVRS as he is a fountain of knowledge on these cars. And usually has lots of parts for sale.

You want ideally

Sfs supersize tip £130 direct from sfs ( forge one rubbish )

3inch decat to 2.5 system

Decent airfilter with cold air supply (Rtech kit £130)

Welly cooler or similar

I have full exhaust for sale for £300

I also have top spec pro alloy cooler for £300

Dont think u need injectors for stage 2? I went on r techs site and he has a good list of bits for power ranges. Clive is this right? Also u mention his intake is rubbish, I have a ramair shielded filter, guessing this also not so good? Made it drive much nicer tho.

R tech also recommend all deletes are done to limit issues, doing this as soon as I solder up my resistors

Well I have most of the parts I've listed anyway and don't want to start chopping and changing. The Viper kit has served me well and is better than my K&N.

The main reason I've been looking at the Forge intercooler is because it's a direct fit with a supplied modified crash bar. I just want to get it fitted without having to bodge the hell out of piping, etc.

I'll have to look into getting the deletes done then... another job I've been meaning to do :P

Intercooler should fit behind the crash bar and after doing some reading on this a good cooler should be fitted as close to the rad as you can get it as a gap can cause circulation and reduce the radiators efficiency. Theres tons of room behind that bar and the forge cooler is so much money

Consider an upgraded fuel pump (about £50-£60 from Motorsport-Tools.com) and check your actuator is still strong enough to not blow open at sustained 1 bar of boost higher up in the rev range. Also consider porting your standard manifold. BAM injectors are necessary, but I shoved some in mine just for the heck of it. And stick a new fuel filter on while you're at it.
