Quaife LSD Are they any good?

Recommended Posts

They help lay down the increased power, or even standard power through both wheels rather than one wheel spinning, the dilema you have is do "I" fit an upgraded clutch when they are in there anyway. They are not a true LSD but more like a 4wd system that puts the power to whichever wheel has more grip unlike a LSD that works on a difference in wheel speeds.

Hi

Yes we offer a lifetime warranty with these Quaife Diffs.

This is done as we have fitted loads of these with the special " All In Price"

This is open to forum members at £1200.00 all in.

It is a very good Mod and we have had nothing but good reports on these.

The fitting of them takes about a day and a half so not a small job.

We could also look at doing you a remap with Custom-Code

www.custom-code.co.uk is the web site.

We have done remaps for GaryM and EddyH who have replied on here for you.

I am sure they will back me up with how good this remap is.

Oh and they dont get paid for it they are just very pleased with what they have recieved.

The retail on this is £525.00 + VAT

Then there is fitting which is not an easy job.

But with the discount that we offer you are getting the price reduced.

So what difference is it?

You know that a day and a half if you are lucky is 12 hours.

Labour rate...Ours is £40.00 + VAT

Fitting kit £88.38

Seal £6.60

Seals 4 x £0.68 each

More sels 4 x £1.06 each

Bolts 2x £1.66 each

Bearings 2 X £18.96 each

Shim ( nightmare for these) £4.50 ish

Oil about £8.00

All prices + VAT

This comes to about £1160.00 + VAT

Then on top of that you get the lifetime guarantee.

But you could save yourself a bit of money to go direct ;)

I agree that fitting a Quaife is not an easy task. I watched Kev at JBS fit mine. Every gear and shaft has to be removed from the box to get to the diff, using pullers and so on. Then the crown wheel removed from the old diff by driling out each mount, before rebuilding and setting it up. Its best left to the experts, who have fitted them before.

I'd strongly recommend an uprated clutch at the same. I kept my standard clutch, but it started slipping very quickly because of the extra traction the diff generates.

Its the best handling mod you can buy for your fwd.

Im heading over to Jabba Sports to get my VRS mapped. I am wondering will it be worth getting a LSD at the same time. Does any one have one and what do they think?

Thanks for the guidance:cool:

Well worth getting it mapped. Say hi to Carole and Michael for me!

No idea about the LSD, but they'll try to push you for a FMIC :D

Thankfully I'm kinda broke, so no new toys until the summer at least :)

Other side of the country, but TSR in Bridgewater supply and fit them too. As commented, single best (albeit expensive) mod available to transform your fwd handling. Highly recommended.

Totally agree, having witnessed your motor first hand Lee, i was well impressed, a must have item.

Hope your back on the road mate :D

Hey

The list could go on.

We have a book with lots of pretty pictures of body mods ;)

But yes Quaife diff is good.

Then possibly T.I.P , DV , FMIC or CAI the list is endless.

Just let us know if you need to upset the bank manager as I know I can do this for you.

Anyway being female I know I can help you spend your money.
