Fabia performance upgrades - recommendations please

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm upgrading my Fabia VRS (55 plate) - already had it chipped to 180bhp at High-performance vehicle tuning, ECU remaps, Exhausts and Styling

I now want to upgrade various other components and wanted some recommendations (btw I've not got unlimited budget - so want a balance between quality, price and performance)...

If you could help me could you recommend upgrades for:

1 - Suspension

2 - Exhaust

3 - Brakes

4 - Clutch

5 - Airfilter

6 - Wheels (17 or up)

7 - Anything else I've missed...

Any help appreciated!

Cheers

1 - Suspension

Eibach springs, Koni FSD shocks, Jabba Rear anti-roll bar, ibiza cupra wishbone bushes, front upper strut brace

2 - Exhaust

Milltek or Blue-flame are the only options really

3 - Brakes

VAG Group 312mm brakes from audi TT, Leon, Octavia vRS etc.. new calipers, carriers, discs and pads can be had for just over £200 on ebay

4 - Clutch

Sachs organic clutch the popular choice, retains the standard flywheel

5 - Airfilter

Pipercross or green filter, Ibiza Cupra PD160 intake pipe upgrade

6 - Wheels (17 or up)

Whatever takes your fancy, 18" difficult to make fit

7 - Anything else I've missed...

for bigger power? FMIC, pikey mods. etc

HTH :D

Thanks guys - that was a quick response :)

There's a lot to think about there!

Do you recommend any suppliers or should I just search the interweb?

Cheers again

get as much as you can off the for sale secton on here, then hunt round e bay,fit it all yourself and you have built a sweet performing motor for pennies:D

if you have to have it all new look under the site sponsors, they can provide everything you need:thumbup:

Jabbasport.com, try and get on a group buy, theres often ones running and they save you a bundle!

As for 312mm brake kits for £200 on ebay, i wish! i look on there every couple of days with no luck. £295 is the cheapest you will get, do a search on google, theres a guy on here that sells them.

Just get a custom backbox and straight through pipe for you exhaust option ;)

There is no piont in fitting any sort of high flow/race cat.

You can probably get that lot for less than £200 fitted.

This might be a contentious answer but......

I have a modified Fabia vRS and the mad wife has a standard Fabia vRS.

We both drive in a spirited manner, and drive each others cars regularly.

After discussing modifications we are agreed that the ONLY ones needed are the rear arb and uprated front brakes.

£500 or thereabouts.

Sorted.
