Hey up

I'm looking to get an EVOMS intake for my car... it just has to be done ;)

Trouble is, Regal Autosport in the UK are asking about £450 for the whole package ( Intake, Engine Cover, Heat Shield) which I'm not willing to pay.

I went straight to the EVOMS Website and got it down to about £240 with about £40 shipping fees... the problem? I can't get to the online shop as the page can't be displayed :P

I came across another site called Bullet Proof Motorsport for a similar price... only they don't ship to the UK :(

Does anybody have a web address of a company that sells EVOMS that I can buy online?

Cheers

Paul

Is the EVOMS any better than a Carbonio ?

I have an EVOMS on mine, but was thinking of changing to a Carbonio one.

Wanna trade?? :P

My 'bonio is brand new... only had it for a few weeks but it was only a tempory measure until I could source an EVOMS.

The 'Bonio is a shiny bit of kit... I don't think it does much for the old horsepower but there was certainly an increase in torque... not to mention she makes a lovely burbling sound now.

I like it... I'm just looking to move on :)

lol

Unfortunately my EVOMS doesn't have the engine covers etc..

Whats the difference with the Carbonio anyway ?

Well.... it looks nice and subtle in the engine bay.

Oh, and it makes a little bit more noise :)

Seriously it did make a difference to torque but I don't think horsepower gains are anything to write home about!

It's just a budget CAI... you get exactly what it says on the tin, though some people I've met absolutely swear by 'em ;)

If you want first refusal on mine when I get rid gimme a shout

one thing you would need to take into account if you were to personally import it, is that you will get stung for import tax and VAT on the whole amount, which on £240 will probably add the best part of £50-80, maybe more.

I tell you what Steve I found the solution to all my problems last night.

For a while now the car has been falling on it's face in the higher rev range - and it has definitely NOT been the fuel pump (VAG-COM logs confirm this)

Just as an idea I removed my Injen intake and replaced it with the OEM engine cover and filter. MUCH MUCH BETTER.

Really smooth now no matter what gear / RPM.

I need an EVOMS.

Think I'm gonna make this my first purchase before deciding which remap to go for. Is this the best place to purchase? Also having very limited mechanical experience are there any specialist tools required for fitting?

Many thanks.

I would suggest going through JKM Performance now as they seem to have a supply route for the EVOM intake. As for fitting, it's fairly straight forward but if you're not confident you could always take it to be installed by a local independant specialist garage.

Personally though I would recomend getting a remap done first before getting the intake, much more bang for your buck and a more clear route to further modifications.
