have a mid afternoon nap, then watch a film or 2..... should be ready by then.

yeah ill try get my head down ,

Only just seen this... sorry...

Was mine... :(

Lovely motor, loads of miles (first 60,000 were done exclusivley on motorway and also trips to switzerland- note sticker in front window), but well looked after...

Has been remapped at about 50,000 miles- by celtic tuning (prob about 170ish bhp - was as quick as my bro's cooper S and his current S reg BMW 335i), who dont have great track record, but it has been ok for me. I loved the car so didnt rag it much if at all.

Also has 312mm brakes too...

Ive been in lots of moderatly fast cars (integra type r, civic type r, Mk 1 RS Focus stage 1) and none feel as quick as that fabia in 2nd gear from 20-40 mph. Absolutely rediculous!!!)

Make sure you get rear off side calliper changed (sticking when hand brake applied)

Also the coolant leaks veeeeery slowly and coolant warning light comes on in winter.

Apart from that its a stonker. Pulls very hard in all gears :smirk:

If you want any more info, ask...

PS it did have a jabba rear ARB and I would think you were mad, bordering insane if you didnt get one too. Best £200 i spent on car, remap included, and easy ish to fit if you have axle stands and 2 trolley jacks...

Remapped + 312MM kit. i so wish he comes back with it, it looks like a lovely car, and this way he can ask any questions!

Fingers crossed :)

Well Well Well,

Picked the car up and i must say this thing moves ! haha,

raced a few things on the way back (private roads lol ! hahaha)

New shape clio 197

audi tt quattro

astra sri 2.0 turbo

and i must say it did beat them all !, my mate came with me who has a mapped fabia (185bhp ish) and he sad this one is faster than his ?

and the first thing i noticed was the breaks they do stop the car really well !

managed to get 1 years warranty out of the skoda garage and a 7 months warranty on the clutch too !!!!

can you tell me were the coolant is leaking from and i will get it sorted under warranty ?

and what do you mean by the calliper is sticking i have not noticed this ?

is there anything else i should know ?

all i can say is its perfect for what i wanted, cast me £64 in the 206 gti to get down and £34 (with 59miles left in the tank) to get back in the fabia !

they may have already sorted those things as it is a stealer car.... did you remove the RARB sonic?

Have a nosie under the rear of the car and if there is 2 metal plates hanging down off the rear shock mounts then there is a RARB too! another +!

Mate im pleased for you! Welcome to the Furby club ( The Black magic furby club ;) )

So whats the planns to make it yours?

as i am an ex professional Detailer i will be giving the paintwork a new lease of life as it has a few chips and swirls/scratches ect,

liking your grill surround so i may nick that idea ,

maybe lowered and a FMIC

Needs a new gear knob as its a bit worn and a glovebox lid (bit scratched)

PD160 intake and panel filter

then see from there ,

I am a OEM look kind of guy so will want it looking mint

Nick away, im not the only one that has it, the other look i like with it is the New Engine cover badge (its all black) looks pretty stealth.

i used Brisky link stuff..... amazing stuff!

  • Author

yeah my engine cover has an all black badge.

Glad to hear it isn't a lemon mate

Another black Furby eh?

Deffo the best colour...

  • Author

hi yeah it dont seem to be a lemon, Sonic was the only other owner of the car,

yeah its black and i love it would never buy a French car again now

...would never buy a French car again now

Too true. I recently destroyed the engine on a Renault kangoo.

IMO it should have been capable of 95mph but apparently not.

Le Merde!

Defo drop it and FMIC......

Nice to see another Black VRS in our midst. Happy driving scott.

tbh dont know where the coolant is coming from, the stealer said bottom right as you look front on at car... (?)

The offside calliper stuck on when hand brake applied. They may have fixed this, but itd be quite obvious...

It is on original clutch, but was treated well and was never floored from low down, but that torque is so nice to play with!! Saying that the screaming mapped TFSI I have now is pretty good too ;)

Aprt form that a pretty mint car really. doesnt have rear ARB - sold on. Get one though.

Whether its faster than the cars mentioned above is up for debate, but its will never embarass itself from average cruisers...

Look after it!!

That was one reason I chopped it in, not great for young and growing family. Boot is ok, but legroom a big issue for anymore than 2 people on long ish journey IMO.

Scratches very recent - corrugated plastic for car port!!

Gear knob - blame wife and wedding ring!

I wouldnt bother with PD160 filter - i did and it made no discernable difference... waste of ~£30 in my book.

Never saw the need for FMIC as stage 1 map was fine for me, and never suffered from heat soak. In fact probably never booted it for long enough to see - more than ~8 secs and you are above national speed limit!!

The one thing i toyed with was coilovers (wouldnt get just uprated dampers etc.) but liked the ride of the car as it was.

Enjoy!

cheers for all the feedback mate its much appreciated, just need a new gear-stick and glove box lid and i am well happy with it

as for the cars i played with,,

New shape clio 197 - was on an average road from the lights left him when i his 3rd and he pulled me over to have a chat as he was amazed haha, his missus said "cant believe you got beat by a diesel"

audi tt quattro(was the mk1 TT could of been a 180 or 225 ?) - we were both doing about 70mph in 6th (for me) i put my foot down and he dropped a cog and couldn't pull away so he moved over . (the look of shock on his face was quite good)

astra sri 2.0 turbo- same as the TT really but got that ****ed off that the little skoda was passing him he give me a load of sign language ! hahaha

i am not trying to say its the fastest car in the world but it does shock people.

Glad you are enjoying it..... and you have a bonus of the Re-map to tick ppl off :giggle:

Come on how much did you part with?

i only paid £4990 for the car(some people might think this is a little high due to the milage) only 1 owner (sonic) and full history , i only agreed to that after they gave my

1 years skoda warranty (even with the remap !)

7 months clutch warranty

a set of new mats

and £20 fuel

  • Author

and another bonus,

i do drive a bit heavy footed too and im still getting 39mpg on the computer

i was getting about 22mpg in the 206 gti !

You got a little Bargain there!

i paid £4250 Private and it had 84K on the clock (FSH, no Warranty, cheep mats, empty tank)

And you know the history of yours! i am now jelous!

i think thats why i drove 250 miles just to get it haha ,

yeah that works out about the same if you were to buy warranty ect . every one of my mates have taken the **** for buying a skoda, but once i have taken them out in it they soon change there mind.

are you running colies ? how bad does it affect the ride of the car ?

yea i have the Weitec Hicon GT.

I have had a couple of issues with them that i am working with KW to get sorted, but the ride is a little harder (wound right down) but handleing is fantastic! i would say invest (soon, letme see if i can sort this problem)

  • Author

yeah thats the only thing letting the fabia down is the handling ,

RARB first........... then coilovers loads of ppl swear by it.
