Withdrawn Colours

Featured Replies

just picked up on the French Forum that the Storm Blue will not be available after WK16/11 and the Amazonian after WK27/11.

James has already highlighted this in his MY12 update thread along with their replacement colours.

Storm Blue and Tangerine have now been removed from the Skoda-Auto website, but they haven't added any new colours yet to replace them. The Skoda UK website hasn't even been updated to remove the colours that aren't available any more, and also doesn't have the hoverscript to tell you which colour you're looking at!

Hi Chris,

Indeed, I can confirm Storm Blue has been deleted. I have an Octavia in Storm Blue on order (since 01 March) and the dealer phoned last week to spill the bad news that the factory (or Skoda) has deleted this colour and they will only honour this colour if the car had a build date, which mine did not. So I email Mr. Hazelwood (Skoda UK MD) and complained. His Executive office phoned back very quickly confiring the bad news. They had even spoken to the factory to try and push mine through, but they (the factory) was having none of it. A new blue, darker than storm blue will be available to order from week 26 (June). I have no idea why there is such a big gap between deleting one colour and replacing it with another.

Hi Graeme,

Very dissapointing to hear that the new blue will be even darker than my Storm Blue as that is virtually a flat navy blue unless the sun is shining on it! The new one must be nearly black! So when they get round to making a Yeti with the options I require, it looks like only Corrida Red will meet my wife's requirements. (We have an agreement, I choose the car, she chooses the colour!!)

Chris

That sucks! Sorry you can't get your colour.

I ordered a Tangerine diesel 20 Jan (and amended sunroof March) - but I'm yet to hear if they'll honour my order colour. (no build week either).

What would be the closest to the Tangerine, I'm not that keen on the Safari metallic?

James at Allams says Tangerine is being replaced by Bronze - a darker shade apparently - but there are no clear colour samples yet or dates for when it will be available.

Also gone is Aqua Blue metallic. Difficult to get info on current paint colours available. But only 5% VAT on a diesel 4x4 Octavia is a result.

The latest World brochure still shows Aqua Blue I'm afraid:

But then that does not mean anything!

Yes,the same is true of my family , I choose the car,and my wife choose the colour.

So I can not expect a car in darker color.

Yes I've read Aqua is to be withdrawn; believe in a Skoda Auto a.s. news article.

Regards,

TP

The source for the withdrawn Aqua Blue colour is the main Skoda dealership in North Wales (Slaters) They also say that if your vehicles paint choice is withdrawn before a build date is available, tough. But if it is after they may/will/might apply your choice.

Further info to the withdrawn Aqua Blue is that it was withdrawn on week 16 and is being replaced by a colour called Petrol Blue which will be a colour between Race Blue and Pacific blue. The nearest to Aqua Blue will now be Satin Grey metallic. This is from Skoda customer services (paint department)

I have the Aqua Blue and to be fair it is so close to Silver at times, depending on the light, that I can understand if they do withdraw it. It is fantastic of hiding dirt though. I can get away with not washing the car for months :giggle:

Hi,

Which silver is the nearest? I've just ordered an aqua blue metallic SM so I'm expecting to need to change this any day now....

Cheers,

Steve

My Audi was this same blue and I can vouch for how easy it was to keep clean. It just never showed any dirt! Brilliant colour. And my original order was for an Aqua Blue Yeti... later changed to Steel Grey.

Aqua looks more like flat normal silver than Steel Grey which is much darker. And who would ever have thought silver will be one of the scarcest colours for a Yeti and brown the most popular?!!?

Johann has answered this but I didn't want you to think I had ignored it. In certain lights the car looks pale blue, in others it looks silver. Very odd. Brilliant Silver would be the one you want if you are looking for something similar.

It was one of my favourite things of my Audi. When the sky is blue the car was blue. When overcast it was grey! The Steel Grey is the same but not as much. Sometimes it looks very blue and other times totally grey. Love it. The Brilliant Silver looks good but won't ever really change colour like that I suspect.

Thanks all! Methinks another trip to a dealer is required - see what they've got knocking around. Only submitted my order the other day and already bits are changing. On that basis, it'll have turned into a purple milk float by the time it arrives (6 months ++) :smirk:
