ITG Maxogen Induction kit - Fitted

Featured Replies

Waited a while, but it arrived today and I fitted it this afternoon. Very easy to fit once the air box is removed.

The tube has been 'pre-formed' at one end to allow passage behind the battery for the air intake. Just needed to move a couple of wires around (battery negative terminal lead) and re-routed the starter for the HIDs, then everythings really straightforward.

Sorry for the lack of 'step by step' but it was VERY cold here, so I just cracked on.

The noise inside the car puts a smile on your face straight away emoticon-0140-rofl.gif Not noisy at all, just the air being sucked in when you put your foot down inside that massive can and the wastegate can be heard in there. sounds very nice indeed.

I'm still puzzled where all the air comes from behind the N/S headlamp, but hey, I'm no expert emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

Performance ? Well, everyone likes to 'think' that when something is added to the car after spending this money on it, it would be better. Yes, it is !

There's no doubt it's quicker and spools up VERY fast indeed. I look forward to this car doing 10k miles as it's only done 2k at the moment and is of course 'tight'.

When cruising at the usual speeds, there's absolutely NO difference in the sound from the engine in the car. Very happy there. I had a Graham Goode Racing Induction in my modified Fiesta ST and although it was nice, did your head in at motorway speeds. emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

So, overall very happy with it. Look forward to having the car rolling roaded in the future to see just what the Revo Stage 1 and the Induction add up to.

Although the 3 mods add up to £1k, (suspension, Revo & Induction) but this really does feel like a different car than standard. The insurance has only added £100 extra (£412 now) so that's great too. The new NGK plugs are being fitted shortly too, so that should iron out the occasional 'misfire' (logged on the ECU with Torque) when booting it.

Looks good!

How did you find yours ? (difference when fitted)

Its like having a little more of an animal under the bonnet! Had a couple of people in my car before and after fitting and all commented that it felt faster with even more midrange.

To me it seems to enhance the supercharger and BOV sound when you give the car a bit more beans.

I would whole heartidly reccomend it to anyone!

Its very similar to the one forge do.. Looks nice mate probly not alot of power gains if the rest of the engine is still stock but deff a must have as it will only get better with a map ect. They always say before serious modding starts you need to allow the engine to breath better :)... Whats next?

I can vouch for the Itg aswell. Great induction kit although i got other plans on how its going to be fed. Out of interest what's the diameter of your feed pipe dude??

to bad this one doenst fit on left hand steering cars ...

Never thought of that. You steering column is in the way i guess?

relocate you battery to the boot, or fit a smaller battery and then you can fit the Polo 6R ITG Maxogen Kit

That looks a lot neater :-)

I expect dampers will be next. Need to sort my Bluetooth out though before I get nicked ....

Anyone rotated their battery? If you can do that then it would fit in nicer. Has anyone got any pics of it with a different choice of pipe work?

Suppose you could 90degree silicon off the intake straight section toward s the bonnet slam panel then finish off with the air filter ?

If you look at the images in this thread you'll see that's not possible on the fabia because of the battery. With the polo and newer cupras the batteries have been relocated to the boot hence they have the room for a larger filter and the 90° bend

I know vrsy but this guy managed something along the lines of what I meant. And the maxogen doesn't have that huge metal neck pipe like the viper

As I posted in that thread. The filter is pretty small incomparison to both the forge and ITG.

The forge intake on mine was actually pretty restrictive as well and its alot bigger than that.

The ITG dwarfs them both hence why it has such big gains. That and the filter material is the same aas used in motorsport race cars

The maxogen is definitely to wide to fit. Also do you really want a filter that close to the elements?

No was just thinking that, plus it would be quite far from the actual intake on the engine (if that would matter?) it's just a shame it doesn't look as neat as it could. I was looking at them slim "Braille" battery's but there major expensive just for added neatness under the hood :-(

My set up which was linked above isn't the best solution, but I was on a budget. If I had the cash for the ITG I'd get it.

I was looking at re-arranging my setup so the Viper filter would sit up where the ITG does, but I dont like the look of the tumble dryer air ducting so it's staying for now.

I might get the itg, ditch the tumble dryer pipe and use silicon hosing instead?

it would be a challange if you sre wanting to use the original front air scoop.

if you have lots of silicone pipe laying around its not such a big task. would need a lot of testing but not impossible!

Wether a different hose would improve anything other than looks isn't proven. Personally, I'm not bothered in the slightest about the looks. I'm sure ITG did their homework on the induction side of things and the placement of the hose. After all, it is an induction kit.

If there is a more suitable placement for the hose and ITG support it's placement and eventual 'upgrade' to silicone or whatever material, I expect a free of charge upgrade after paying a great deal of money for what is, quite simply, a aluminium can, a filter and a hose. emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

Lol nicely put!

Are BMC cda kits similar?

Are BMC cda kits similar?

Have a look at the forge then have a look at the BMC........
