Emissions fix again. Factory 'fix' start build date?

Featured Replies

From what month of what year of manufacture was this factory sorted anyone please?

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered  in one of the other monster long threads

Not quite sure what you mean?  Skoda should have sent you a letter to advise you if your vehicle was subject to the 'cheat software' or not. If it was then you should receive another letter to ask you to bring it in for the software 'fix'.

What vehicle are you asking about and what engine, 1.2, 1.6 or 2.0 TDI?

Use the Skoda Diesel Emission VIN checker to see if you have a Euro 5 Emissions vehicle with the Defeat Device.

I think Adenuf is looking to purchase a vehicle that is definitely beyond all this stuff?  Anything with Euro 6 emissions qualification, I think? Not sure when that was introduced, but google/Wikipedia should tell you.

Understood.

So any Euro 6 TDI should not be affected, best check where investigation have got with Euro 6 2.0TDI Audi A3.

Is that investigation completed and they have the all clear?

Sort of. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.. Didn't word it very well.

No, I bought my registered September 2015 Octy vRS  last May, and asked them had it had the recall done if it was actually not already sorted, but they didn't really answer me. They said there was no recall outstanding on my particular car, but I'd be notified if and so required.

My June 2014 Mk3 Octavia 1.6 CR was not subject to the 'fix'

If it's a Euro 5 engine it'll be subject to the fix. September '15 Octavia is almost certainly Euro 6 and not part of this campaign. What engine code do you have? You could also use the VIN checker on Skoda's website.

No 1.6 TDIs have had a fix issued yet.

^^^

It is Euro 5 Emission Vehicles.

Unless the suspicions on the Euro 6 Audi A3 2.0TDI are founded.

You must mean the members of the public's 1.6TDI CR car i take it!

because since the Fix is passed it obviously has been done for testing and approval.

VW Group are able to make their statements on no changes from the original performance before and after only because they have worked on vehicles.

?

Are you a VW Group employee with insider knowledge as to what vehicles VW, VW Commercial, Audi, Skoda or Seat have done The Fix on?

We've established that the issues on the Euro 6 Audi is totally separate and it's only confusing things to bring it up here.

1.6 engines are not yet being fixed in the field. Therefore it is accurate to say the fix has not been issued. It may have been approved but that's different.

No, I'm not a VAG employee, I'm an engineering academic with an interest in seeing an honest, fact based discussion of the topic. There's too much pub-talk floating around and it's not helpful.

Someone on Honestjohn posted about his 59 plate 1.6TDI Bluemotion having had 'The Fix' on the 13th December 2016.

& Another later in December.

What there is are lots of Fan boys possibly as happens insiders (employees) that seem to defend what the VW Group are doing or not doing but spinning. Even using Forums to post misinformation.

Too much greed as well from those with no losses of any kind trying to cash in, but that really is their business.

If there is any cheating found with the Euro 6 Audi A3 2.0TDI it will be different from the Euro 5 Revelations on Defeat Devices but another Big Scandal.

Time will tell.

The Co2 Irregularities from late 2015 was a different matter and that lead to VED changes and even Buy Backs of vehicles because

they were not what buyers or those leasing had ordered or expected.
